I vaguely remember Kerry’s “Reporting for Duty” speech at the convention, but I don’t remember there being
“...an honor guard of a dozen mates from his Vietnam days surrounded him on the podium attesting to his character and readiness to lead.”
I didn’t think he had enough supporters from his Vietnam tour to be able to form an honor guard.
I remember 4-6 buddies of his that stood by his lies and dozens that said he did nothing in nam and faked purple hearts.
