Vanity: McCain's Nicole Wallace stands her ground!
September 2, 2008 | From The Deer Stand

Posted on 09/02/2008 5:24:13 AM PDT by From The Deer Stand

While the main stream media is trying to make an issue out of the pregnancy of Sarah Palin's daughter, John McCain's spokesperson Nicole Wallace expertly handled pointed and aggressive questions from Diane Sawyer and Meredith Viera on two morning shows. Diane and Meredith kept trying to create controversy and Nicole expertly put them in their place. Hurray to her. It's about time those being questioned fight back with pointed responses of their own.

I continue to monitor FR every day but I don’t post very much any more. In 2006 I was disgusted by the Limbaugh attack blaming the pages in the Foley scandal. Many posters here followed his lead and the entire campaign simply fell apart around issues of sex and morality.

I think Limbaugh is a problem. He is doing enormous damage to the Republican brand and has made life miserable for every middle of the road and moderate conservative.

If Limbaugh comes on the radio today trying to fire up the controversy, you know it is only about him and his ratings. McCains best hope is to move beyond the all the noise and try to get some positive traction out of the convention.

I do not believe Limbaugh will do anything other than hype a situation that really needs to be allowed to quiet down. This is a family matter and most people will allow it to be exactly that. But, just watch, Limbaugh will do what is good for Limbaugh. Perhaps he will bring back Michael J Fox for round 2. The man is an idiot. I wish more conservatives had the courage to tell him to shut up

They’re angry that she’s not having an abortion like they would have done at her age. THAT’s what has them ticked, that she’s not killing the baby to sacrifice to Molech......

The premise of these moral tempest’s is that Democrats never violate their own moral code because they don’t have one. Democrats have no moral failures because they have no moral aspirations.

We need a weekday talk show thread. I can’t keep up with everything that is being said on the MSM!

I find it amazing that the MSM doesn't realize that America will not sit idly by while the gorilla beats up the girl. You talk about mobilizing women...

According to Laura Ingraham the back lash against the left is starting. Like she said this morning: “the obama camp sure kicked the hornets nest”

Go McCain/Palin

Maybe we should revive our morning talk show thread, at least until the election. There was so little participation after Imus went off the air there seemed no point to it. If there was interest, I could do it.

I saw that as well. Bounds was pathetic. Anyone who lets Campbell Brown best them is not competent to be a spokesman for anything.

We need to let the McCain people know this and put Bounds in the background--or limit him to weak reporters like Blitzer.

Yeah, I guess you are right. But then why did X41, 43, and Jeb call Rush to congratulate him on his show yesterday?

Interesting that X41 asked Rush how “our man Ailes” is doing. Then X41 was told to temper his remarks cause he was “on the radio air”.

Diane Sawyer may be a media whore in more ways than one. How did she get her job working for Ron Ziegler and was she involved in the DNC Callgirl ring of watergate break-in infamy?

Here is an interesting discovery document, a memo in the lawsuit John Dean filed (and lost) vs the authors of Silent Coup. Why this was never checked out and brought to light is truly a wonder:

http://www.nixonera.com/etexts/colodny_exhibits/exhib105.asp The memo reflects an early, 1986 investigation by journalist Phil Sanford into the origins of watergate and his pursuit of the so-called callgirl theory of the watergate break-in. According to this early research, Sawyer’s code name in the callgirl ring was Ecdyiast. He also mentions John Dean’s future wife’s code name “Clout” in this memo.

I am sure this could be researched extensively by the online community to finally determine whether Diane Sawyer was indeed Ecdyiast as suggested by this document.

I like Rush. And no, I had no sympathy for 18+ year olds who supposedly were pressured into having sex with older men. Sorry, but heterosexual 18 year old males do NOT have sex with other men to get/keep a job.

The pregnancy is a semi-private matter. I say semi, because everyone knew it would become a public matter soon - even if Sarah Palin stayed in Alaska, or even if she resigned as Gov.

However, the vitriolic attacks on Palin, and the MSM sending ‘reporters’ to try to find any dirt, any where when they won’t even mention Ayers or review Obama’s history of non-accomplishment - THAT is a huge story. When you (liberals, not you personally) attack a woman by claiming she faked being pregnant, you obviously are insane - but the MSM has been eating it up!

This is the Wellstone Memorial done in a negative way, where the liberals prove that no one can escape their vomit. The USA needs to decide if people like that should be dominate in politics.

“middle of the road and moderate conservative.” = Liberal leaning Noreaster Country Club republican.

Limbaugh speaks to and serves conservatives, not “The Republican Brand.

It was the brainless heads on CNN and MSNBC who are not allowing this story to "quiet down." Last night it was Larry King and two other liberals up against one conservative - the liberals were snickering and insulting Palin and her daughter; and it was the liberals who were trying to manufacture doubt and condemnation in "the religious right."

I don't even recall which liberal news reader it was on MSNBC last night who tried to do the same thing.

Rush has been away all weekend. If he comments on this manufactured "crisis on the right", I will bet that he hits the liberals hard for their hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy for saying the kids of candidates are off limits - except when it's the kids of (R) candidates.

Hypocrisy for saying that women should be free to choose to have a child or kill it - but it's a good choice only if they choose to kill it.

Hypocrisy for saying that a woman's place is anywhere her own ambition leads her - except if she is an (R) woman.

And more, I am sure.

I hope he kicks the liberals' asses over this.

I agree. Bounds was weak, especially on the Palin matters.

Should have a woman defending Palin on the experience issue anyway.

Or, as Ann Coulter has put it, the Left renounces and repudidates any moral code whatsoever so that they can accuse others of hypocrisy.

So you think this is the hill we choose to fight on. Sorry, I think it is a private matter and it should be left private.

That's a good thing. Rush Limbaugh has done more for the Conservative movement in this country in the last 20 years than anybody except Ronald Reagan. What have you done?
