Obama will revive African-American music: Spike Lee

Controversial Hollywood filmmaker Spike Lee is certain that the US presidential hopeful Barack Obama will change the face of African-American music if he wins the election.

According to contactmusic.com, Lee is one of the many celebrities who is supporting the Democratic Party candidate Obama. Lee believes Obama will inspire a revival among artists.

He said: "We gotta step it up. This is too important. We should use an event like Barack's presidency, which I feel is probably one of the most important moments in the history of this country, to galvanise us, to inspire us, and, yo, let's go!

"I believe artists have to lead the way. The same way as in the turbulent 60s... that music reflected both the difficult times we were going through and the enthusiasm and optimism we had, too. And I think Obama is going to have the same effect on African-American artists—and it's needed."

He will only help rap music if they can figure out how to work “uh” into every other word.

Obama is the panacea for the black community. If elected everything will be perfect. He will fix black music, he will end the high levels of teenage pregnancy, blacks will stop dropping out of school, and the black crime rate will plummet.

Rape, violence against women, drugs and cop-killing. I don’t doubt it in the least.

When did African-American music die? Does he mean that vile, drum-rhythmic, noise they call gangsta rap?

“Obama will revive African-American music: Spike Lee”

I was unaware that B. Hussein was such an accomplished musician...

Kinda like the way Stalin revived Russian music and culture. The Obama cult of personality is just as strong. Then next thing you know, we'll be getting stories about what a great scientist Obama is.

Yo, Mr Spike. Maybe you should "feel" like there is NO Barack presidency just yet.

We need a PRESIDENT to inspire us MUSICALLY??? Okey dokey, Spike...

If that was the case, we can claim that it was President Eisenhower who gave us Rock and Roll! Oh yeah!!! Thanks Ike!

I think they already, uh, do that. This is kinda like the old burnt out anti-war singers hoping to fire up a new “movement” against the war so they could start getting royalty checks again. They smoked and snorted all the money they made back then so they need a fresh source of cash.

I've heard a great deal of African music: but the only African-American "music" I've ever heard has been violent shite about b*tchs and drugs: and sad, tedious repetition of the word 'f*ck'.

Does Spike think he's helping Obama here?

More important than defeating the Nazi's and saving the world? More important than defeating the Commies and saving the world? Walking on the moon?

Thank God we have Spike Lee to keep our priorities in line!

Obama will abuse and take for granted the black voters just like every dem politician before him. Bill Clinton said all the right things while doing nothing for the blacks. Obama will do less for them and they will be sorely disapointed.
