First, it will drive the ratings for Palin’s speech tomorrow night through the roof. I’ve been predicting that the tune-in for her speech would be second only to Obama’s “Night at the Parthenon” show. If the McCain campaign leaks word that Palin’s going to address her daughter’s pregnancy, she may surpass him.

I agree that it would drive the ratings through the roof. If the media keeps harping on it, then Palin is OBLIGATED to explain it to clear the air. I think she should confront the sexism that demands a female politician explain how she's going to care for her family but doesn't ask that of a male politician.

What I've really learned in all this is that the liberal elites really have no standards. They only have talking points. Sadly, that suggests they have no foundation at all. They simply drift. And that's what they want for the rest of us.

I know no one may ever hear it, but if any McCain/Palin volunteers with a connection to a connection to ... the top are out there, here goes: To get a slam-dunk break-the-backboard score on the issue of Bristol Palin, have her father give a speech about his feelings and how even if he was disappointed, this is his child (and grandchild)and he will love and defend her to the end. Show the US what a real man with real honesty and values does. I think the ticket would catch 80% of the male vote in this country after such a speech. (I'm thinking of the father in the movie, Juno. How he and the step-mom acted like adults). Of course, the reality is we don't know how Todd Palin actually feels about this, but he appears to be a very secure manly man who has no problem with his wife being of "higher status" than him.
