MOSCOW (AFP) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday Moscow no longer considered Mikheil Saakashvili as Georgia's leader, calling him a "political corpse" and accusing his regime of "aggression that ended in many deaths."

Speaking in an interview ahead of US Vice President Dick Cheney's visit to Georgia, Medvedev again accused Washington of helping Tbilisi "build its war machine" and urged the United States to review its relations with the country.

"For us, the present Georgian regime has collapsed. President Saakashvili no longer exists in our eyes. He is a political corpse," Medvedev said in the interview broadcast on Russian television.

"But we would like the international community to remember who began the aggression and who is responsible for people's deaths," he [Medvedev] said.

Seems like they're still out for Saakashvili's head.

The Soviet Union is back boys and girls...and this time they have $$$.And we’re gonna have to fight them ourselves because Europe needs her gas and oil and will do *nothing* to upset the supply.

Medvedev is about as whacked out as Hugo Chavez. They should keep sharp objects away from this yo-yo.

Yep, they read Hitler’s book on how he took Czechoslovakia in 1938.

And next comes the Poland 1939 replay with Ukraine.

As long as he isn't a biological corpse, he is president of the sovereign state of Georgia. And after you murder him, you are damned.

Rather than use the word “fight” I probably should have said “struggle”.And yes,we (and particularly Europe) caved to the USSR’s invasion of a (very) small democratic neighbor.

Either get Georgia into NATO very fast, or the U.S. needs a special coalition to form a treaty of protection with Georgia. Problem is that everyone in the EU ultimately wants to do business with Russia. The NATO countries are mostly compromised and weak militarily. So, we don’t have much back up here.

It would be funny if Saakashvili replied, “Putin is a political corpse. Medvedev, be a man and stop letting a corpse pull your puppet strings!”

If Obama does win, it will be a big green light for Russia, China, Iran, etc. and they know it.

I’m not saying that a McCain win will cure these matters, but it would be a huge difference.
