North Korea Reassembling Nuclear Center, U.S. Officials Say

Tuesday , September 02, 2008

WASHINGTON —

North Korea, after halting the disassembly of a key nuclear center, is now putting the center back together in violation of the United States' conditions for improved diplomatic relations between the countries, U.S. officials told FOX News on Tuesday.

The motive isn't clear but sources say North Koreans likely are reassembling nuclear facilities at Yongbyon partly to protest the United States' delay in taking the country off its list of terrorist-sponsoring nations.

"They've been threatening this move for some time," one U.S. official told FOX News, adding that until now the threats were seen as merely a way for North Korean officials "to express their anger."

Even now, piecing the facility back together is seen as a "symbolic gesture" because so much already has been taken apart, though the United States is taking the developments seriously.

"Hello Condi?"

"Yes Mr. President?"

"What's going on with our new Partner for Peace and Prosperity in Pyangyong? I got this report saying North Korea is reassembling their nuclear facilities?!?"

"Well Mr. President, they are disappointed that we haven't removed them from the list of terrorist-supporting nations"

"What? I thought you were taking care of that?"

"No Mr. President, that has to come from you."

"Welllll what-the-heck, send word to Comrade Kim to tie on the feedbag and get on his plane and c'mon on down to Crawford next month and we'll stuff the little guy with some BBQ and I'll peer into his soul and see what's in there, ok?"

"Yes Mr. President."

"You got your train ticket Condi?

"Yes Mr President."

"Good deal. As soon as we get Lil Il squared away it'll be just about time to make like a shepherd and get the flock outta here! Hey, I'll even let you blow the whistle, ok?"

"Thank you Mr. President, 'Whooo-Whooo'."

"You got the spirit Condi! See ya at Union Station!"

The World Health Organization says North Korea needs 200 thousand tons of food aid just to feed its people this year.
Assistance they want for free. Still they feel a need to stick their finger in our eye?
Screw them, most of the aid would go to the military and Little Kims favored.
Hell with them, let them starve.

Bush was an idiot to try and negotiate with these scumbags. McCain is better on foreign policy than Bush. Hopefully he won’t start talking about how Russia and China are such good allies with us like Bush has since 2000. They never have been our friends and it’s disgusting to pretend they are. Especially considering they are the two most powerful nations that we could easily end up at war with in the future.

I am quite sure this is coordinated with the United Nation’s pronouncement that they will need $500 million in aid this coming year to avert famine.

This is just a bit of insurance to see that it happens, and I’m sure a few U.N. officials are sitting on nice little cushions of cash to reward them for their part in the play.

I don’t suppose it would at all help to point out that, theoretically, if NK spent money on feeding their people instead of nuclear missiles, that perhaps famine would not be such an issue.

Way to go, Condi.

I wonder if she's being considered for SecDef (over William Ayers) by Obambi, in order to show he holds no grudges towards Republicans over Bristol Palin's racial hate mongering towards his campaign?

Oh, you didn't hear about that one? It's what's coming next, just watch. "McCain has no idea what he's up against."

Cheers!

Of course NK is at again.

The Olympics are over. China can cause havoc with its surrogate little tinpot Kim now.

No need for the ChiComs to appear peaceful now.

You do realize both the Clinton and Bush Administrations BOTH (with essentially the same career State Department) got hoodwinked and screwed by Pyongyang, didn't you?

Do you care to dispute that with evidence?

Do I think the State Dept is screwed up and Condi Rice has been a disappointment? Yes.
Do I think that Pres. Bush has an IQ of 80 and the maturity of a 10 yr old like that post portrays and do I think that sort of post belongs on FR?
NO

I'm sure you overlooked pinging me. Heh. No worries, I keep an eye on BushBots like you so here we go pal:

Finley Peter Dunne said "politics ain't beanbag".

You need to remember that, and you also need to remember that even the object of your misguided idol worship would tell you not to worry about dissent, that it is part of a healthy democracy, and that you shouldn't 'overunderestimate' him.

A whole lot worse than what I post about our illustrious President is said about him on a daily basis here on FR -and- elsewhere, much of it justified.

If he hadn't lost his focus, nerve and direction in the waning years and months of his second term, he would be standing tall right now, and I speak as someone who voted for him not once but twice. Why? Because just like this year, the prospect of a President Gore, Kerry or gawd forbid Obama is too horrifying to contemplate. But that doesn't give George W. Legacy a blank check from me, nor should it from you.

And if you want to talk about intelligence quotients and maturity, how intelligent is a person who literally peers into the eyes of Vladimir Putin and then makes the prognosis that he has a 'good soul'? I'm not a big John McCain fan, but when he said that all he saw in Putin's eyes were the letters "K.G.B." that displayed a far more realistic understanding and comprehension of our adversaries and the world in which we live, than did the quixotic optimism our President was indulging in.

And what kind of intelligence is reflected when not one but two of the legs of that naaaaasty 'Axis of Evil' are basically shoved to the back burner and left for the next Administration to deal with? (we're talking about North Korea and Iran, you do remember those rogue states, don't you?

Months and months and months of prattle out of the Bush Administration about how we "won't permit" Iran to develop a nuclear weapon, but no action has been taken. Just talk. Iran has been murdering U.S. troops for years in Iraq through proxies and by supplying IEDs and other munitions, what has the U.S. done about it?

Not one damn thing. Our President seems to have forgotten or overlooked the fact that America is still in a state of war with Iran, based on their illegal invasion, violation and occupation of our Embassy in 1979, and we have every right to respond accordingly, which we have failed to do. We have seen the Condi Rice approach supplant the more realistic John Bolton approach at the State Department, which translates to (surprise!) Chamberlain-like appeasement.

And to return to the subject of this thread, North Korea? This Administration chose to make a deal with a genocidal tyrant that already had demonstrated their untrustworthiness, had established a history of lies, deceit and skulduggery, and the message that sent to the North Korean people is that George W. Bush is content to leave them to their misery and continued oppression while playing the same ol' Clintonian/Albright game of attempting to buy the favor of Kim Jong Il and his murderous regime in hopes they might 'play nice'.

That isn't the mark of a mature OR intelligent leader, that's the mark of a naive amateur who is destined to be played for a sucker every time.

Now shall we continue on to a discussion of Agents Ramos and Compean, and Bush's 'dear friend' Johnny Sutton, the corrupt U.S. prosecutor, or is daylight beginning to dawn upon marble skull?

Wow, you certainly must be in on a lot of the security meetings at the White House to know so much about what the President is thinking and why he makes the decisions he does.
Who knew?
