Ronald Reagan would be disgusted at her stupidy and lack of loyalty. As a conservative woman, I am really ticked off at her betrayal!
I'm not joining in with the "Palin's the second coming of Reagan" crowd but I do like her and her background.
ditto
She’s post-menopausal! I guess she forgot to take her hormone replacement therapy today.
This convinces me that the GOP needs a revolution from within...and when that is over it needs a Bolshevik-Trotskyite type of purge.
We need the real rank and file conservtives to take over the Party at the local level and then build up to the state and national.
Maybe Palin will spark this cleansing off.
I can’t remember anything outside of 9-11 that has enfuriated me as much as this. Because you know it is going on all around the Beltway.
I am not judging. This is not a quote or misstated comment, this comes from Peggy Noonan’s own mouth. All I am saying is I will wait to see what Noonan has to say on it.
At minimum, in my opinion, Noonan should have know she could not trust MSNBC or that someone ‘could’ find out and post what she said. This tells me she is not up to date on new media and instant mass communications today.
The new term for that event is "nuked the frig"! (see Indiana Jones IV)
Hey Pegster...SAYONARA BUCKWHEAT!!!
‘turned into a bitter old woman’!!!!1You are so right, I used to look forward to her writings....
I”m SURE Alaskan Repubs are assisting. Is she not a “whistleblower”? Did she not shake up her own party, buck the establishment, hold them all up in Alaska as “corrupt” in the mainstream media down here? And insult of all, she took money out of their pockets.
She also Pissed off the oil companies. They can be pretty dangerous to cross.
You can bet they are seething. And some of these political types are mean, mean, mean. They can relish slicing and dicing their political opponents, even if it helps Democrats.
Nobody has dirt like a political campaign. I’m sure a lot of them are opening their research to the MSM and Obama’s folks. And telling fun stories that may or may not be true.
Her contacts page has a disclaimer that e-mails are "delayed getting to her" because they're reviewed to gleam the spam from the fawning notes of tribute, love and adoration.
Has Noonan been bedded by Bubba and is that why she's gone loony?
One never knows, eh?
Demos have been saying for years that she’s just an old bitter gasbag. They’re right. She’s a bit of a loon now.
She used to write some good speeches and that was the extent of her talent. He time has long passed.
The DNC/LIB/RAT women are nearly all the hellen thomas type eyesores. Let the GOP or someone come up with a piece of eye candy and all hell breaks loose.
I really never liked her and always thought she was greatly overrated as most in the media are.
Excellent :)
Sounded like Noonan said “I saw Kay this morning...” and something to the effect that Kay was all bummed out or disappointed. I guess Peggy wanted Kay Bailey-Hutchinson to be selected rather than Sarah Palin.
Peggy, dear, Kay may be a woman but she’s still part of ‘The Old Boys Network’. McCain made the absolute best decision in his choice for VP. I doubt either one will ever use your rambling, ‘stream-of-thought’ speech-writing talents anytime soon.
[Aside: Peggy Noonan did her turnabout when she wrote the article critical of President Bush’s speech-—’too much God’-—remember? She lost my respect and trust at that point and hasn’t regained it since.]
I wonder if it occurs to Peggy that in all likelihood Ronnie would have loved Sarah Palin.
They were just talking to impress each other with how intelligent they are...
Thanks for posting the link. My message:
Dear Ms. Noonan:
I bought your book “When Character Was King” and read it several times. What a fine book. Beautifully written, moving and poignant. Most of all, you made a record of the greatness of Ronald Reagan that will no doubt continue to occupy the reading list of his growing legacy.
All this praise only makes me the more saddened by the comments you carelessly allowed to be captured on open mic at the convention. “Bullshit narrative”? Is that even close to a fair reading of Governor Palin’s qualification to be on the McCain ticket? And is it really how cynical you’ve grown in terms of the value of a candidate’s character? By all accounts, Sarah Palin is just the kind of person we need to reinvigorate the character issue in politics.
I am really ashamed of you for what you said and I am saddened that you probably have done irreparable damage to your reputation. You should apologize to McCain and to Palin.
