The McCain campaign and much of the Republican Party are outraged at media coverage of Sarah Palin. McCain strategist Steve Schmidt set the tone perfectly Wednesday, whining about a faux media scandal designed to destroy the first female Republican nominee.
Well, cry me a river. Lets take that claim apart, and lets start with this:
A relative handful of columnists and commentators and a larger number of bloggers have indeed wondered in public about Palins decision to accept the nomination so soon after giving birth to a son with Down syndrome, a condition that requires a lot of attention, and when she has a 17-year-old unmarried pregnant daughter. How, they have asked, could Palin do right both by her family and her country?
To the McCain camp, such questions constitute a vicious and scurrilous media campaign to ruin a promising conservative candidate, using sexism to do it. Is that true?

Geez...I'm always the LAST ONE to know!!!
Repeat after me: Jay Bookman is a douche.
projectile vomit alert for the “constipation”
One small problem: the MSM knowingly sat on the Edwards story for months.
I see the dog ate the MSM's homework on Obama ... and we shall see about Palin.
sexists. Perhaps we should start investigating THEIR child-care arrangements. Did jay bookman quit his job when his kids were born? Why or why not? “None of my business” he says? Gee....
He doesn't deserve the attention.
And in the case of Elizabeth Edwards' cancer story, he only released the news in order to garner the sympathy vote when he was hopelessly behind.
Dang. Something really weird is going to happen with the press tonight and tomorrow.
Thank God the AJC is dieing and will slowly shrivel away and take Bookman with it.He is no more than a paid prostitute for the DNC. It is going to be sooo nice to buy my first AJC in Nov. when the McCain/Palin ticket wins and read what comrade Bookman has to say about it. The Marietta Daley Journal is a much better newspaper anyway.
I git it...women should remain barefoot, pregnant, and at home until they get the ok from their masters to wander off down the lane.
The reporters?
Agreed!
They ran with a story without properly vetting it.

WHY does the media think they should have vetted Palin? they are the ones whining that its “not fair” because her nomination took them by surprise-I was shocked when I heard the first one say they should have had time to vet her...vetting her ISN’T THEIR JOB!! why should they have known before the day of the announcement!!

Apparently the AJC hasn’t laid off enough this year due to a plunge in circulation:

“Douche’s” actually serve a useful purpose. Unless you count making CO2 for plants or holding up a pair of pants, Jay serves none.

Amazing, isn't it? The Lefties in the press and on the web have lynched her - and it's only been 5 days! We haven't even heard her speak yet! It's a full court press to make sure Governor Palin does not make it till the general election. If that happens, the Junior Senator from Illinois will not fair well.
