The tickets probably were forged. By stating that it was a “frustrated republican” they avoid incriminating statements and spread mistrust and suspicion among Republicans.
In propaganda, you never stop hammering your point and every statement should be toward your goal.
I suppose they could have been forged, but could have been lost or stolen too. I am assuming they have bar code (they did four years ago in NYC).
