ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reports: While Republicans congregate in the Twin Cities striving to keep their hold on the White House, Barack Obama's running mate Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., sharply criticized the Bush administration Tuesday while delineating the changes Democrats would demand if they rise to power.
"In an Obama-Biden administration, we will not have an attorney general who blatantly breaks the law," Biden said at a town-hall meeting in West Palm Beach, Florida, his voice at times drowned out by applause. "We will not have a president who doesn't understand the Constitution. And I will not be a vice-president who thinks he's not part of any of the three branches of government."
Biden ripped the Bush administration for wasting a chance to unite the nation in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
"George Bush and his administration are going to be judged harshly by history," said the Delaware lawmaker. "Not for the mistakes they made, but for the opportunities to unite America and the world they squandered."
Now, Biden said, he and Obama are determined to take control of the West Wing, noting that he would not have agreed to share the Democratic ticket had he not known Obama's commitment to sticking to his values.
"Have you figured out what is worth losing over?" he said. "Because if you have not, it's just raw ambition. Barack understands what is worth losing over."
The McCain campaign responded to Biden's comments by using the veep nominee's own words against him. McCain's team referred back to when Biden, while campaigning in the Democratic primary, said that Obama was "not ready" for the presidency.
"Six months ago Joe Biden's description of an Obama administration was littered with questions of inexperience," said McCain spokesman Ben Porritt. "Today, Biden has been tasked with carrying the water for Barack Obama who has voted in favor of taxes 94 times in three years and has claimed that making decisions on the tough issues is 'above his paygrade'. Barack Obama has zero foreign policy experience, is not a credible voice on U.S. relations abroad, and as John McCain and Joe Biden agree, is just not ready to lead."
Earlier Monday, addressing a crowd in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Biden also preached the importance of this election in terms of the Supreme Court, noting that the next administration might appoint as many as three new justices.
"The single most important domestic decision that a president gets to make on his own or her own is the Supreme Court," he said.
Looking to the future but with one eye on the past, Biden also promised that an Obama-Biden government would go through Bush administration data with "a fine-toothed comb" and pursue criminal charges if necessary.
"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation," he said, "they will be pursued, not out of vengeance, not out of retribution - out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no one, no attorney general, no president, no one is above the law."
On Tuesday, the vice presidential nominee continued his 48-hour swing through the Sunshine State with stops in Ft. Myers and Sarasota.
TGO?
It’s been my tagline for many months.
What else can they do?
They’re like a cornered animal.
With Obama we will.
Neither Obama or Biden believe in the United States Constitution; the actual written Constitution.
They believe in the "living constitution" - constitutional change by judicial fiat - because following the "constitutional" process of amendment is too cumbersome, too uncertain and unlikely to achieve the votes needed in the state and federal legislatures - better to have judges dictate when and how the constitution should "evolve" (in the radical liberal view).
The practical affect of the so-called "living constitution" changes the very first line of The United States Constitution from "We The People" to "We The Judges".
I’m just going by the approval ratings:

His approval ratings are still higher than those of the Democrat led Congress:

You don’t think the polls are manipulated, too? CBS had a poll last weekend showing Obama up substantially over McCain. If you read way down you found out the poll sampled only 26 percent Republican.
Get smart.
“Have you figured out what is worth losing over?” he said. “Because if you have not, it’s just raw ambition. Barack understands what is worth losing over.”
Does this make any sense ? (No)
Sounds like raw ambition either way you cut it.
only far left wackos want this sorta talk
I suppose they haven't figured out that any loser can claim that, sane or not.
Hey Joe, just call Dennis Kookoonich on the Moonbat Courtesy Telephone. He can tell you how well trying to “indict” President Bush for not committing crimes has worked out. LOL.
This is a bone to keep the crazy loon in their party on their side...they may be the only votes they can count on after tonight! Four hours later and I swear, I’m still high! I went to get my hair done after the speech. (I know, my hairdresser has a baby so she only works at night..and she’s worth it!)...ANYWAY, I couldn’t stop talking about her. We have another vote on our side now! YAY!
I think they can be. However, if they wanted to manipulate them to make the Republicans look bad, why post results showing the Democrat led Congress looking worse than Bush?
The President is seeking to protect us using the tools he has at hand to prevent more attacks.
For THAT, the Democrats want to find some criminal thing against the President, and in addition they want a terrorist bill of rights.
The Democrats who want these criminal charges should all take a long walk off a short pier.
HAH! I would love that! The libs and MSM would all throw strokes or something.
I recall one time a liberal said that the elections were stolen in 2000, 2002, 2004, and ALMOST in 2006. I could only laugh. I said, “I guess that means the elections are stolen whenever the Republicans beat the Democrats.”
“I hope they shout this stuff from the rooftops. It will only help McCain.”
I agree, and I also hope they run their “McCain is anti-abortion” commercials too... hell, he’s proud of that. They’re just spending money, and helping spread his message too.
Remember that Republican delegates have been assaulted trying to get in and out of the hall.
This is how Obama does business, and evidently Biden has bought in.
If you oppose him, you can get arrested, threatened, prosecuted, shouted down and assaulted. Remember the ABC reporter trying to report on Obama's lobbyist and corporate connections? Remember how Kurtz was hounded? Remember the letters to Justice demanding prosecution?
And remember the mobs, kept at a safe distance in Denver, allowed to reach Republican delegates in Minnesota? Those mobs are Obama Democrats. Where are the McCain mobs attacking Democrats? There aren't any, there never would be any. A Democrat can walk safe in his person among Repubs, but a Repub who is outspoken against Obama, or even merely asking questions he doesn't want to answer, runs a personal risk.
Now, to go back in time, remember how Bork was hounded out of public life? Remember what they did to Justice Thomas?
That was Biden's handiwork. If you oppose Biden you aren't worthy of respect or even honesty.
Remind you of what they tried to do to Palin? And they aren't elected yet, and they don't have control of Justice or IRS yet. God help us if they do.
LOL! Is he allowed to pardon himself?
No but there is no need. He didn’t do anything wrong! besides When McCain/Palin are in the white house there will be a smooth transition.
While you’re at it ,Joeblow, you can go after Bill and Hillary,Janet Reno, and the rest of their criminal enterprise.
