Canada cannot be compared to the Mid East, or China, or Russia.

I’m not parroting the MSM heartbeat talking points. They are my own.

How does a woman CIC handle countries that consider women property? I need to know.

I did see that. But an ‘attitude adjustment’ sounds too simple for a cultural mindset.

but Rice isn’t CIC. She is a surrogate for a man.

The same for Palin as VP. She'd be surrogate to President McCain.

One only need read Upton Sinclair’s “The Jungle” to understand why TR might have been spurred to provide federal oversight of the nation’s food and drug supplies.
In fact Upton Sinclair lobbied TR.

At the very least, you’ll get the demo-libs to finally agree that Carter was our country’s worst president.

If Palin becomes President someday (hopefully after a term or two of McCain - he ain't my favorite pol, but I wish no ill upon him), the Arabs and those of similar mindset will have to undergo a very serious attitude adjustment.

As we all know, she isn't running for president, but VP. OTOH, perhaps we should ask Angela Merkel whether she feels up to the task of dealing with Arabs. If you think I'm going to consider my choice for president based on how they disabuse Arab sentiment, think again.

1972- H.M. Margrethe II, by the Grace of God, Denmark’s Queen

1997- Governor-General Hon. Dr. Dame C. Pearlette Louisy, St. Lucia

http://www.guide2womenleaders.com/index.html

Today, the only two countries, which never had a female member of government in at least a sub-ministerial position, are Monaco and Saudi Arabia. The Vatican has got one Assistant Vice-Minister. In 1999 Sweden became the first country to have more female ministers than male. 11 women and 9 men, in 2007 the Finish government had 60% women.

Current female heads of state and government
There are 192 members of the United Nations and 2 independent states outside, a few self-declared de-facto independent states and many self-ruling depencies. 21 have got female leaders at the moment.

Of the monarchies, there are reigning Queens in 3 countries: Denmark, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom - and the latter is represented by female Governor Generals in Antigua and Barbuda, Canada and Saint Lucia, who function as their countries’ de-facto Heads of State.

The 7 female Presidents are in Argentina, Chile, Finland, India, Ireland, Liberia and The Philippines.

At the moment there are 8 woman Prime Ministers; in Germany, Haiti, New Zealand, Moldova, Mozambique, The Netherlands Antilles, Ukraine and The Åland Islands.

Were the policies TR put in place necessary at that time? Yes they were. When the machine of Congress grinds to a halt, who but the President has the power to make things happen?

Health care and bargaining for the coal miners was a god-send for improvements in qualitry of life for the miners.

Setting aside BILLIONS of acres for future generations was not only thought out carefully, but showed his vision of the future.

Teddy thought BIG as far as America. The Panama Canal was not 'Teddy's Ditch' as the yellow journalism of the day put it, it was a cognizant understanding of the strategic value of movement of ships from one ocean to the other.

Self-promoter? Teddy didn't need any self promotion. His deeds spoke for him. He will forever be the ONLY US President to be awarded the CMH for valor in battle.

I am a woman. I’ve had to put on hajabs and bring male surrogates with me to meetings because it was forbidden for me to look Muslim males in the eyes.

A large amount of those countries you have listed have ad the USA act as their surrogates.

John Bolton knows Palin. He has every confidence in her. I understand your reservation about women/Islam. I’ve had the same concerns with Condi Rice. Sarah, is no Condi Rice...she’s got some nerve.

Bolton said [paraphrasing]...they talked about missle defense, etc. and she was very knowledgeable and she is a ‘quick study’. He was very impressed.

I didn’t say it was the wrong idea. I just said it should have had a constitutional amendment to make it legal. I recognize that there are plenty of folks who disagree with that logic. My take is that we in the US have been doing things the wrong way for so long, that wrong looks right to us. More is the pity. I could go on about the Department of Education (unconstitutional), social security (ditto), gun laws (mostly unconstitutional), but I’ll spare you the grief.

“How does a woman CIC handle countries that consider women property? I need to know.”

From the media scrutiny of Sarah lately, you could be describing the USA.
