Yes, yes, we know. Obama said the equivalent of "War is peace," namely, "surrender is victory." So, he DID use, or abuse, the word victory!

In fact, Obama almost directly echoed the hippie peaceniks of the Vietnam days who demanded: "Bug out, and declare victory!"

I just googled that phrase and found this memory of that time from The Nation:

It was this period when Senator George Aiken, Republican of Vermont, uttered his famous solution: "Declare victory and get out." The great tragedy was that Johnson, either too willful or too worried about history's judgment, would not yield. Instead, it destroyed his presidency.

Stevie ... given the bitter case of Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS) you are afflicted with, last night's speech must have been really painful to watch.

Here's a thought ...

Sorry missed count, we’re up to 5 times, not 4. It’s still in as many fingers of one hand

Because he can give a speech about the wars America is fighting and use the word 'victory' outside of talking about his own campaign does not preclude him being able to give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting without using the word 'victory' other than in in reference to his own campaign.

That’s what I thought. He used the word victory in a negative sense concerning Iraq, and in regards to the past in Germany. Proving that Sarah was right.

So hyperbole in a convention speech is now scrutinized as hard news? The truth is it is accurate to characterize Obama's Iraq War positions as cut and run in the face of victory. He owns that!

ABC News, coming to a grocery store rack near you soon.

My post to ABC’s site:

Where was the fact check of Obama’s big speech? Perhaps ABC forgot to post it in their quest for fair and balanced reporting? Perhaps Obama offered up no facts to check?

Meanwhile, as usual, the left-wing media has it wrong. Palin was right that Obama never talked about securing victory in Iraq, she was right that he never authored any major legislation (hell, even his minor legislation was BS) and she was completely accurate when she said she put the Alaska jet on eBay.

More of the same from an increasingly panicked left. I can’t wait for November when you f@%tards get your final comeuppance.

I guess it depends on what your definition of “victory” is... I’m pretty sure mine is nothing like Obamas.

3 times for WW2, which is obvious, please! If he has only said ‘victory’ 3 times while talking about WW2, it’s still shaky ground.

PALIN: "[Obama] is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting

Are we still fighting WWII? I guess it depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

All this is about Palin hitting a grand slam last night and there's NOTHING the DBM/Obama can do about it! How absolutely pathetic you must have become to basically be forced to parse words hoping to garner some sympathy.

There will be major blowback if they think they're going to out do Palin with this tripe!

Writes Russel Goldman of the ABC wing of the Obama campaign...

...[Obama said] true success in Iraq -- victory in Iraq -- will not take place in a surrender ceremony where an enemy lays down their arms. . . I want Iraqis to take responsibility for their own future, and to reach the political accommodation ...That's victory. That's success. ... and that's why I will end this war as President.

Hmm.

As I read this, Marxist Obama says, explicitly, that a military victory is not a victory; however that a "political accommodation" IS a victory.

"Political accommodation?" Yes, Marxist Obama would use his vast community organizer experience have the U.S. military leave in non-victory (aka defeat), and HOPE that the bad guys submit to conflict resolution.

(Nervous laughter.)

Aren’t you the Obama defender...ROFLMTO, the only reference I’ve heard Obama say about victory was in accordance with his own campaign, which isn’t going to happen. period.

While a state senator in Illinois, he sponsored two contentious bills

LOL well ok then.

I put it on eBay. I also drive myself to work. FACT: ......When the deal fell through with the sole eBay bidder, the plane was sold offline.

SO? She still had put it on ebay. Duh.

Palin drives herself to work. In July, her Chevy Suburban was rear-ended while driving from Wasilla to her office in downtown Anchorage.

Not sure what the libs point is on this one...probably in the lib world anyone as important as the Messiah should have someone else drive b/c it's not in his pay grade. Or if someone else is driving then the Silky Pony can get more in a lawsuit.

“victory in Iraq — will not take place in a surrender ceremony where an enemy lays down their arms.”

That’s all I need to know. Obama wants one of those “Peace with Honor” type arrangements that Nixon did (pretty much had to do with all of the protests back home), but like the Dems back then, walk away from their support to Vietnam/Iraq and have it all collapse.
