Election '08: Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says that, if elected, an Obama administration might pursue criminal charges against the Bush White House. This is how he plans to unite the country?

Barack Obama insists he's the one we've been waiting for to bring the country together. Yet, he and Biden are signaling their willingness — or is it their eagerness? — to criminalize political opposition.

"We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offense that's occurred," Biden said Monday at a Florida campaign stop. "If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued — not out of vengeance, not out of retribution, (but) out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law."

This follows Obama's pledge last spring, before adopting his attack-dog running mate, that "If crimes have been committed, they should be investigated."

Biden has backed down on this, but don’t think Barry and Joe wouldn’t try it if they make it to the WH. This has been a Code Pink moonbat favorite for years, and that’s where the Dem base lies nowadays.

The Fairness Doctrine and putting Bush in jail. They would do it in a heartbeat. 1984 demo RAT style.

OK... Let’s prosecute Slick Willie for his many pardons of criminals and stealing many White House assets including silverware?

So my question to Bush - so hows that compassionate conservatism/reaching over to democrats working out for ya?

Bush was either naive or stupid to think that the liberals would ever trust him - this is a war - the enemy is liberals - thinking that they can be trusted is just plain stupid - they see it as weaknes, as any dictator and only understand a crushing hand.

Right. It’s naive to assume anything less than the worst in a rat.

Heck, BO and Biden would investigate Bush the moment they want something pushed off the headlines.

What statute will they prosecute him under?

Oh, right, the We Think He Was a Bad President Act of 1964.

“OK... Let’s prosecute Slick Willie for his many pardons of criminals and stealing many White House assets including silverware?”

Would have to impeach him first. ‘Neat’ little catch 22 since they also say that you can’t impeach him now that he’s out of office. Not only that, I don’t think BO or Biden really care what happens to the Clintons.

Joe Biden is an angry & confused man. He can’t properly weigh an idea to see if it has any worth & therefore he can’t defend his ideas.

Palin is going to slice & dice him in the VP debate. It’s a darn shame that the Dems will only agree to 1 — and grudgingly. Palin may not have the breadth of experience, but she will have her convictions. She will also be aided by Biden’s eagerness to crawl out on a limb advocating another of his ill-considered ideas.

What Biden is referring to is war crimes as defined by the world criminal court of the UN. Since we are bound by UN treaties, the claim goes that our president falls under world court jurisdiction.

THIS IS DANGEROUS.

Methinks that the doctor drilled too far down when he was installing Biden’s hair plugs.

If this comes to pass, it will trigger a civil war in this country (and guess who has the guns?)

Frankly, I think they’ll lose the election. Thank God!

We are only a few justices shy of losing our sovereignty to the UN. A slight shift in the Supreme Court, and treaties would trump constitutional rights.

“the claim goes that our president falls under world court jurisdiction”

Well, they’ll have to catch him first. I hear Cheney’s covert Halliburton-funded army will whisk Bush away to the shadow world where they’ll both eat gumdrops by the riverside.
