SOURCE

According to PolitiFact, the plane, bought by her Republican predecessor whom she beat in 2006, was listed for sale three times on the San Jose internet auction giant. But no one ever met the minimum bid. The plane was listed with an asking price of $2.5 million in 2007. The state had paid just under $2.7 million for it in 2005.

Finally, the state turned to an aircraft broker, who sold the jet to an Alaskan businessman for $2.1 million

Good job getting $2.1 m nearly 3 years after they paid $2.7 m. With depreciation, the State of Alaska made out fine. Palin is one sharp cookie.

No kidding.

I'd like to know what, as a general rule these things go for when the government unloads them. The auto auctions for fleet vehicles are like 50 cents on the book around here, and other durables are pennies on the dollar.

Rochester NY paid $32M for its “fast ferry”, dumping it not long after for under $30M (and somehow blowing an additional $8M in the meantime on it).

MSM has it's knickers in a twist on how she lied about selling the plane on eBay. She put it up....didn't sell at the price she wanted so brokered it....and still got good money for it....THEN sold the extra parts on ebay. But we don't hear anything about that now do we?????
