I am sorry to hear about your mother. My mother is on chemo right now due to cancer. She had cancer two years ago (lung) but now has breast cancer. I help with her care. My father only passed away this past March and I helped with his care as well because the lung cancer put my mom out of commission for a long, long time. She still has not fully recovered her stamina or strength (guess losing a lung will do that to some people).
If you took the comments I made about not knowing about this case as condescending, I am sorry to say that something is wrong with your perception. I initially commented on the thread that I did not know what the case was about (the names were not familiar to me). The person who responded to me wrote in all caps (as if they were yelling), that they couldn’t believe I didn’t know about it. Well, I find it odd that someone would assume that everyone in the U.S. or world would know of a case in Florida. We have tragic cases in Ohio all the time that have made national news and I would be hard pressed to think of a time when I would ever act so shocked that someone hadn’t heard. Meanwhile, there are all manner of very important issues affecting this country that I imagine these very same people know nothing or little about.
While the situation is apparently very tragic, and I am certain that many do care deeply, because I do not traffic in these pathetic cases does not make me condescending, lacking compassion or anything of the kind.
Ordinarily, when I read of these things or hear of them, I will say a prayer of protection for the victim and courage and strength for the family.
And, for whatever it’s worth, yes, I think you are deserving of a pass on the pill. Again, my prayers to you and your mother. Believe me, I can relate.
