While 82% of voters who support McCain believe the justices should rule on what is in the Constitution, just 29% of Barack Obama’s supporters agree. Just 11% of McCain supporters say judges should rule based on the judge’s sense of fairness, while nearly half (49%) of Obama supporters agree.

I remember a project I had to do for home schooling - I took the Bill Of Rights (the first ten amendments)and went door to door in a neighborhood several blocks over from me. I read them to whoever would open the door and let me read it. You have no idea of how many thought it was some communist propaganda.

Absolutely. That's exactly why I think the longterm safety of the Constitution is the most important to me (and a small fraction of other voters who are equally focused on the Constitution). The only surprise in these figures is how huge the differences are between the McCain people and the Obama people.

Exactly right—the next administration could appoint four USSC Justices, which would influence the direction our county takes for the next 20-30 years. Obama has stated that he employs an “empathy” test, which is utter rubbish.

I don’t trust either candidate on judicial appointments, but our best chance is with Maverick.

I’ll never forget the awful Kelo decision and Howard Dean’s denouncement of it as “Bush’s Supreme Court”. Talk about being in the catbird seat. Dean got the leftist’s dream of the destruction of private property rights, and at the same time his friends in the media allow him to place the blame on conservatives.

This has been done in many different ways and I find it interesting. Ask people if the statement “From each according to their abilities - to each according to their needs” is from the US Constitution or the Declaration of Independence.
