While 82% of voters who support McCain believe the justices should rule on what is in the Constitution, just 29% of Barack Obamas supporters agree. Just 11% of McCain supporters say judges should rule based on the judges sense of fairness, while nearly half (49%) of Obama supporters agree.

I’ll bet many of them couldn’t tell the Constitution from the Declaration of Independence, The Federalist Papers, the Emancipation Proclaimation or the warranty on their new flat-screen TV.

Nothing surprising here. Obama has essentially said the same thing about fairness.

Three reasons for any stragglers to bite the bullet and vote McCain/Palin: Ginsburg, Souter, Stevens. They need proper replacing.

I hope all the Bobby Barr and Ronnie Paul supporters read this! If Obammie gets elected, you can forget about the U.S. Constitution. Like Obammie, it will be “history.”

I remember a project I had to do for home schooling - I took the Bill Of Rights (the first ten amendments)and went door to door in a neighborhood several blocks over from me. I read them to whoever would open the door and let me read it. You have no idea of how many thought it was some communist propaganda.

Liberals and socialists want to trample on the Constitution at every opportunity.
Conservatives respect the Constitution and want to uphold its concepts following the Founding Fathers original intent.
Nothing new here.

This is no surprise...that danged Constitution just gets in the way of their agenda... Silly people that actually think they have a right to Private property and to defend themselves need to go to the re-education camps.

“What did you think the last seven presidential elections were all about anyway?”
Exactly. The left any more looks upon government as power to be seized, not rules to be abided by. Look at how the DC government reacted to the Heller ruling. Just ignore it and wait to fight it out in a hopefully more left-friendly Supreme Court.

Exactly right—the next administration could appoint four USSC Justices, which would influence the direction our county takes for the next 20-30 years. Obama has stated that he employs an “empathy” test, which is utter rubbish.
I don’t trust either candidate on judicial appointments, but our best chance is with Maverick.
I’ll never forget the awful Kelo decision and Howard Dean’s denouncement of it as “Bush’s Supreme Court”. Talk about being in the catbird seat. Dean got the leftist’s dream of the destruction of private property rights, and at the same time his friends in the media allow him to place the blame on conservatives.

This has been done in many different ways and I find it interesting. Ask people if the statement “From each according to their abilities - to each according to their needs” is from the US Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. It’s just plain scary how many people will pick one or the other.
