That is a cop out. You apparently haven’t investigated many charitable organizations. For example, the Salvation Army uses less than 15% of the money the take in for overhead and NOBODY at the SA is a rich executive. There are also many homeless shelters in larger cities that refuse government money and do an excellent job of getting people back up on their feet.

If don’t want to give to worthy causes, don’t try to blame others’ failings.

Besides, this article is about the way liberals think that generosity begins by taking the money out of other people’s wallets.

Ok, you got me on The Salvation Army. They do great work. I actually do give to them on a regular basis... cash and non cash donations.

But United Way and most of the other large charities are worthless.

Regardless I know enough folks personally that need my help to bother giving much to charities.

As for the article... we really don't have a good gauge on what Obama 'really' gives out. Like me, he may be giving to people that aren't tax deductible orgs. Or not, but I still don't want to go down the road of targeting our opponents with such stuff when we are up in arms about spurious charges against our candidates. Credibility...
