The Republican National Convention started out as a bust, with a hurricane aimed toward Louisiana and an unpopular president

We all know that the media saw this as a perfect opportunity to kill the Republican Convention by ignoring it. They did their very best. We heard again and again all the details of where Obama was going to speak and when. They broadcast it for weeks. Stadium, Greek Temple, time and place advertised every hour on the hour. But I had to check in with FR to learn when Palin and McCain were going to speak, because they didn't get any of that free media worship.

Yet more people turned out to watch them than watched Obama and Biden. And they both gave super speeches.

Maybe the effete Seattleites have a different definition of rhetoric than I do. Good rhetoric is designed to move and persuade, and I think McCain and Palin did that better than obama. I was prepared for a disappointment with McCain, but he spoke superbly. And everyone admits that Palin knocked the ball out of the park and way out into the East River.

Agreed.

Anyways, I am electing a President. If I want to listen to a good speech, I’d join the Toastmasters.
