McCain-Palin becoming Palin-McCain?
Yahoo ^ | 9-6-08 | SARA KUGLER

Posted on 09/06/2008 3:48:46 PM PDT by ovrtaxt

"Sa-rah! Pa-lin!" came the chant at a Colorado Springs rally on Saturday moments before Republican nominee John McCain took the stage with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a woman who was virtually unknown to the nation just a week earlier. The day before, thousands screamed "Sa-rah! Sa-rah! Sa-rah!" at an amphitheater outside Detroit.

Can McCain accept this?

I'm sure that Senator McCain and his staff realize at this stage of the game Sarah is his meal ticket.

Palin is a far better candidate than Hillary or Obama, or anyone I can think of except perhaps Romney. But Palin will attract far more Democrat female voters than Romney could have.

Only on Planet Mittwit could Slick Willard Romney POSSIBLY be considered for one nanosecond, a better candidate than Palin.

At some point McCain decided he wanted to WIN the election, rather than win praise from the media at how “honorable” his losing effort was. He’s fired up!

I think that promoting Palin is not so bad. Afterall, some of the swing votes are PUMAs and just voting for the woman.

I agree with you. In 2008 it is McCain-Palin and I hope no one with real political credentials on our side suggests publicly or privately otherwise. I would like to think we need to preserve the dignity and honor of the office and respect McCain, i.e. not turn this into another media feeding frenzy for MSM. Certainly though I am hoping that Palin will have as much influence in the McCain administration as Cheney did in Bush’s, especially in energy and the budget.

.....Well for me to vote I’m going to have to call it a Palin/Whatshisname Ticket......

It's OK, really. You can vote for both and know the vote for him is just a way to assure you get to vote for her as President.

Go ahead and enter this private confessional and confess that you will vote for the Palin ticket. don't hem and haw, just reach the conviction that it is the right, principled to do.

It's OK.......really

.....Palin will be much more stronger in 2012 .....

Her tenure as VP will in effect be an apprenticeship in Washington politics. The worst thing will be if it pisses her and family off to the point she chucks it all and returns to Wasilla.

I tend to agree. But these are human beings and human beings can be awfully odd and perverse. So far McCain appears to be simply rather giddy about the situation. Like Rush said on the day McCain announced the Palin choice: McCain never looked happier. I don’t worry too much about any of this but being familiar with human nature I know that these stresses do happen even to the best of us. I pray for them both.

Well look on the bright side, as VP, Sarah will be in the White House 12-16 years. If she goes to the top of the ticket, we get her for only 8 years and that would be a bummer.

Talk like that is only going to get under McCain’s skin and mess things up.

That's a risk that would apply regarless the office she holds in DC.
