McCain-Palin becoming Palin-McCain?
Yahoo ^ | 9-6-08 | SARA KUGLER

Posted on 09/06/2008 3:48:46 PM PDT by ovrtaxt

"Sa-rah! Pa-lin!" came the chant at a Colorado Springs rally on Saturday moments before Republican nominee John McCain took the stage with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a woman who was virtually unknown to the nation just a week earlier. The day before, thousands screamed "Sa-rah! Sa-rah! Sa-rah!" at an amphitheater outside Detroit.

Got to admit- as far as being compelling, to me she dwarfs McCain.

McCain should have offered to be her Vice President. The house would have come down in St. Paul!

Well for me to vote I’m going to have to call it a Palin/Whatshisname Ticket.

Too bad we couldn’t vote her in without voting for him.

Since both Zerobama and Biden have decided that they need to tagteam Governor Palin, I have to agree that there may be something to this story.

Looking at McCain’s total background, all other candidates are pygmies by comparison. Palin is a far better candidate than Hillary or Obama, or anyone I can think of except perhaps Romney. But Palin will attract far more Democrat female voters than Romney could have.

McCain - Palin are going to win big.

This will be a test of character. Can McCain accept this? If he were wise he would welcome it with open arms. After all, if it works HE will be president. And it will be a test for Governor Palin. She is, after all, a mortal woman. Will all the adulation and hype go to her head? She is facing huge temptations right now. That she is a committed Christian will help a lot. And she does speak of approaching this task with a servant’s heart which is very encouraging and indicates she has an understanding of her situation.

In any event both of them, I think, start from a position very far from the barely concealed arrogance and hubris of their opponents. Neither McCain nor Palin have claimed to be able to heal the planet or lower sea levels.

From your lips to God’s ears. I pray that this is His will!

Watch out. The media will try to make McCain jealous of her popularity.

Just keep in mind that if McCain hadn’t chosen her, she wouldn’t be there with him. And that his pick shows that he understood that he needed to stop placating the left and turn back to his base.

We need the two of them working together for victory and for our country, and it doesn’t help to keep dissing McCain.

I have been very critical of McCain myself for the past few months, but I think he’s finally moving in the right direction and deserves our support unless he throws it away again.

All things considered, I don’t really think McCain’s character needs much testing. I have my problems with him, but character isn’t one. ;)

Yes, the do hate her, even in that puff piece, they cannot help themselves:

“...Palin is even getting the star treatment from celebrity magazines, Web sites and television programs, which have played up her personal story as a mother of five children, one of whom is 17 years old, unmarried and pregnant....”

They just had to slip that into the story, they didn’t mention Bristol by name but still...

No, I disagree, and I think Freepers shouldn't start to spread this idea. Talk about Palin/McCain is not productive and might weaken the ticket. There is no way we switch the order now, so we better get over it. McCain IS the presidential candidate with Palin as his running mate.

I really like and admire Palin and see her as the future of not only the Republican Party and the US, but it's McCain's presidential campaign now, with her as a second person. I'm not saying that we shouldn't promote Palin, but we should put her as a great addition to the McCain ticket, not try to belittle McCain.

Let's not be impatient and ruin the ticket. Palin will be much more stronger in 2012 (or 2016) with experiences as vice president than being a loser who tries to come back.

I was in Sterling Heights, MI.
They chanted USA and McCain too.

Now the homemade signs were something different. Just about all of them were about Sarah. There were a big lot of us that left after Sarah spoke.

I was not a big McCain fan. But he has won me over.
I still do not agree with him on many things. But I have come to see a few things in light. Palin was a good decision.
But I now know that he is a man secure and comfortable in his own skin. And he does not care that she may eclipse him in popularity. Can you imagine the fragile ego of Obama if his running mate was more popular? Probably why no Hillary.
Like McCain said..he wants to get things done and he does not care who gets the credit.
For those who are voting Palin and whats his name...he gets the credit for picking her.
