Pres in 2040 - maybe.

She seems like she is having a great time. McCain seems to be taken by her.

My daughters think she is very cute!!! They loved when she smoothed Trig’s hair down.

Actually, my prediction was that the girl name "Piper", which ranked #700 in 1999 (the first year it broke the top 1,000) and #240 in 2007, will rank within the top 100 in 2009, and will break the top 10 within 30 years or so.

I agree.

My daughter has a brain injury, epilepsy, allergies, and a heart arrhythmia. She’s always had insurance because my husband’s company has it. However, I wonder what will happen when she is an adult. I’m worried that insurance companies will deny her coverage.

Some of these liberal (New York-Hollywood) types have the attitude whether they know it or not that they are “Aryans” and people who disagree are “inferior.”

And I’m not kidding.

I have a child with Down’s syndrome and I do network with disability rights and advocacy groups here in California. The problem is that the Liberal Democrats are seen as the ones who care and support special needs children more than Republicans do in the eyes of many special needs children.

IMHO, I would support vouchers but special needs children shouldn’t be discriminated against.

People like me and my child shouldn’t be discriminated against by being denied health care coverage because of a preexisting conditon which I believe is what would happen to us if we had to get health insurance on our own. I’m not for universal health care and I guess we would have to pay more but we shouldn’t have to pay an exorbitant amount.

I think Parents of special needs children who are liberal democrats will start to come around and see that Republicans care and support special needs children and Sarah Palin may be the one who starts this turnaround.

“those who fear that her idea of advocacy might really mean preventing abortions of fetuses with Down syndrome”

What ghoulish Nazis.

I’m in California also. I would love to help you.

Obama is seen as the one who will help special needs kids more because he wants to throw more money at the problems without really fixing anything. I don’t use the public schools anymore because they didn’t help my daughter. I don’t think throwing more money at a broken system is going to fix it.

Now, allowing parents (specially of special needs kids) to go to a private school that better fits their childs needs would. Even just a small voucher or a tax break would help.

My husbands company is changing health care next month. I am so worried that the new company is going to deny my daughter speech therapy. Some companies will only cover speech if the person has lost speech. That means they will not cover a child who never had speech in the first place.

I would love to work with other republicans with special needs kids to figure out important real issues for our kids that can help them without throwing more money into a broken system.

“Having been in the same position, I simply do not understand the desire to legislate (rather than educate) women into making better choices.”

This person does not understand the Constitutional division of power. Vice Presidents are part of the Executive branch, which does not legislate.
