MSNBC TAKES INCENDIARY HOSTS FROM ANCHOR SEAT... DEVELOPING...
Drudge ^

Posted on 09/07/2008 6:33:59 PM PDT by flyfree

MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channel’s coverage of the election.

That experiment appears to be over.

After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.

The change — which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle — is a direct result of tensions associated with the channel’s perceived shift to the political left.

“The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into what’s supposed to be straight news programming,” said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

The article says they are staying on as analysts and that Olberman has signed a contract to 2012 or 2013.

I just surfed over to DU

You're a braver man than me. Better run a virus scan and delete all your DU cookies.

They got a bunch of conspiracy fans over there (and they don't have rule about "no profanity....good thing, too; otherwise, they'd lose one of the 5 words in their vocabulary. :>)

Let's see, there's "Bush Sucks" and... What are the other two?

Usually Olbermann gets his way, but he didn’t tonight. He had it coming...

That doesn’t say much for Beck.

MSNBC is finally forced to admit that Olberboy and Chrissie are lying RAT scum, but they’re still on the payroll and still have their own shows. Nothing has really changed, MSNBC is just making a transparent effort to disguise their partisanship for a little while, because they can see their blatant bias is backfiring.

“But Rachel Maddow stays????”

You can say that again. I saw her for only a few minutes the other night and I felt like I was watching Al Jazerra. She used all the Dems talking points and the rumors about Gov Palin as if they were all proven facts. ...and she did it with a smirk on her face that was sickening.

Up to now, the company’s public support for MSNBC’s strategy has been enthusiastic. At an anniversary party for Mr. Olbermann in April, Mr. Zucker called “Countdown” “one of the signature brands of the entire company.”

Just last year, Mr. Olbermann signed a four-year, $4-million-a-year contract with MSNBC. NBC is close to supplementing that contract with Mr. Olbermann, extending his deal through 2013 — and ensuring that he will be on MSNBC through the next election.

****************

Zucker is a flaming liberal to have praised Olbermann that much...

Rachel Maddow gets to stay because she’s the token lesbian. PMSNBC’s idea of “fair and balanced” is that every gender orientation be represented.

A typical Marxist ploy. If Obama wins the MSM will go into full blown propaganda mode and any opposing voice will be silenced. We are very near a Communist Soviet society.

Yes, I gathered that also after reading the full article. Doing some musical chairs to appease the viewers, then will revert.
