Lance Armstrong will end his retirement and hopes to compete in the 2009 Tour de France, according to a cycling journal report.

The 36-year-old seven-time Tour de France champion will compete in five road races with the Astana team in 2009, the cycling journal VeloNews reported on its Web site Monday, citing anonymous sources.

I guess the French won’t like the fact they are gonna be beat again. This time, by a old man.

I hope he wins but 2nd acts rarely succeed in sports.

Not a lot of other riders stepping up.

Alberto, Levi, and who knows - maybe Floyd will be back next year. It will be interesting to see what riders are willing to be on his team and give up their dreams of yellow.

Assuming he can get back in racing shape - should make for an interesting July

Um, Michael Jordan came back and he won three more NBA titles.

Yeah, if he can’t get good domestiques, he won’t be able to compete in the Tour.

That being said, seems to me that star power might be enough to get some riders interested. It might be a good way to get noticed in order to be a featured rider on another team.

He kind of looks like Favre too. Except skinnier.

Um, Michael Jordan is the exception that proves the rule.
