(AP / WASHINGTON) — Democrat Barack Obama says he would delay rescinding President Bush's tax cuts on wealthy Americans if he becomes the next president and the economy is in a recession, suggesting such an increase would further hurt the economy.
Nevertheless, Obama has no plans to extend the Bush tax cuts beyond their expiration date, as Republican John McCain advocates. Instead, Obama wants to push for his promised tax cuts for the middle class, he said in a broadcast interview aired Sunday.
"Even if we're still in a recession, I'm going to go through with my tax cuts," Obama said. "That's my priority."
What about increasing taxes on the wealthy?
"I think we've got to take a look and see where the economy is. I mean, the economy is weak right now," Obama said on "This Week" on ABC. "The news with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, I think, along with the unemployment numbers, indicates that we're fragile."

Someone tell the haloed one that the cuts have to be renewed by a vote of both houses of Congress. If not renewed the old rates from beforeJune 03 kick back in.Is he going to tell Harry and Nancy that he wants the Bush tax cuts renewed. I think not. It makes a good sound bite now and the media is too dumb, too in the tank, hell they’re both, to ask him how he will keep the cuts. Maybe Johnny Mac can bring it up debate night.

Read my lips Obama, tax increases on the wealthy are always a good idea, ESPECIALLY following huge tax cuts for the wealthy THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE. How fu$%ing hard is it to understand that and explain that to the American people?

Obama acknowledged to Maria Bartiromo about the damage raising the capital gains tax would do to investors but he insisted it was more fair to take from the rich to give to the needy.

Question....Obama is going to let the Bush tax cuts expire. Then he is going to give me a tax cut. Assume my taxable income is $100,000, what will my taxes be after Obama's changes compaired to what they currently are?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with “Me” saying I am going to pay a little more. There is a huge problem with the government saying we are going to take more. The more he talks the more obvious it is he is a socialist. One without any convictions I might add. By the election he will be pro second amendment, against abortion...
