Is it a good idea for candidates to campaign in schools or on church property?

I would say no, except this is yet another recent (i.e. since Palin was announced) example of the GOP rubbing the liberals' faces in their own hyprocrisy.

I remember Jimmy Carter’s Mama coming to a local high school when I was a child. Our “gifted” class went on a field trip to see her. I doubt it swayed anyone, but it was great fun for us to attend. Gary Hart came to my high school during the school day. I shook his hand. He was out of the race within a week if I recall correctly.

We went to see John Kerry at a high school, but it was on a weekend.
