Thousands expected at memorial for slain Fairfield councilman

Thousands of people are expected to attend a "Keep the Dream Alive" memorial service for slain Fairfield Councilman Matt Garcia at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Armijo High School.

Garcia, 22, was shot in the head outside a home in the 5000 block of Silverado Drive on Sept. 1. Police are still searching for his killer, described only as a light-skinned black or Hispanic man in his 20s who fled in a late-model sedan. (Excerpt)

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere here on FR.

This is a sad story. The youngest elected official in the state murdered at 22. He had met with John McCain recently and Mr McCain told him ,'You are the vision for the future.'

Matt was elected on an anti-gang/anti-crime platform.
