Massachusetts: Obama leads McCain 54 percent to 38 percent with 2 percent choosing "other" and 5 percent undecided in a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted August 5.
Last month, Obama led by 20 points in this poll.
Sixty-two percent of voters see Obama favorably compared to 57 percent for McCain.
Unlike most other states, voters believe protecting the environment has a higher priority than bringing down the cost of gasoline by 48 percent to 41 percent. They also believe that Afghanistan, not Iraq, is the central front of the war on terror and biggest threat to national security.
A 7NEWS/Suffolk University poll conducted July 31-Aug.2 had Obama leading McCain by 47 percent to 38 percent with 13 percent undecided. The margin of error is 4.9 percent.
Suffolk's David Paleologos said "Obama's campaign has hit a soft patch this summer. With November just three months off, it still appears an Obama outcome in Massachusetts is not in question, but the margin certainly is."
Obama has roughly a 2-to-1 lead among women. Massachusetts has gone Democratic in the five last elections and the only time the margin was less than double-digits was the 1988 George Bush-Michael Dukakis contest.
Lead shrank by 20 to 12.
There are gonna be RIOTS!
Vote for Obama... or else...
He’d better fuel up the jet cause he’s going to have a lot of stops to make.
a landslide. Anyone know the over-under for his home state of Illinois? I suspect the margin is shrinking a little.
They are hard core Dems. Palin is heading there for a fundraiser soon. They wil not take that state. They need to secure Florida ASAP.
Bamma Bamma Bamma Bam!!!
Vote for Obama... or else...
I think the Democrats say, "Vote for Obama or die." It's an MTV thing.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I know some good things are happening here but let’s get a grip. This is Mass. and the lead is 16, not 12.
Mass, is one of the 10 states I think is safe for 0bama. But, I would still like to see the 0bama’s lead shrink down to 5% just to make him squirm.
There is no hope for Massachusetts. Gads, folks, these clowns have Kerry and Kennedy for their senators. So, move along, nothing to see here, move along.
Make that O-O-O-O-O-ver ....
According to the text this poll was released August 5th????
I saw a ray of hope when after Palin was announced as his running mate, McCain signs began to outnumber Obama signs that had been up for weeks on a major road nearby.
true but it shows how robust the Palin effect is
You’re absolutely right. I will say that I’ve seen a tremendous number of McCain signs here in MA. But that doesn’t mean McCain will win.
When even the in-bred liberal tribes of the Northeast begin to see the light, you know the rest of the country, being more intelligent, is brewing a landslide.
A landside would be nice, but with the 30 lawyers and operatives sent to dig up dirt, or make up dirt. This is going to get very ugly.
