Hurricane Sarah Strikes the Press
Pajamas Media ^ | September 9, 2008 | Roger Kimball

Posted on 09/09/2008 2:14:05 PM PDT by AJKauf

Hurricanes are not the only forces of nature causing damage these days. Gustav and Ike may have ripped the roofs off many buildings, but hurricane Sarah has devastated what was left of the mainstream media’s pretensions toward even-handedness. The curious thing about the Palin Payload is that (so far) the most conspicuous damage has been inflicted not directly by Governor Palin but, jujitsu-like, by the media’s efforts to destroy her...

Hurricane, trump card, barracuda, wrecking ball, Joan of Arc...however you want to word it, IMHO,

The Pick of Sarah Palin as VP has dealt a fatal blow to Obama's presidential aspirations

I'm sorry but there is no pretense of fairness anymore from the drive bys.

Sarah may have reemphasized it but the MSM has been in the tank so long for the left they have morphed into "THEM".

Here is the best thing about this media tsunami. None of it is true, therefore, none of it is sticking. What is sticking with the public is the fact that the media, and by extension the Obama campaign, is throwing everything at this beautiful, smart accomplished mother and governor. All of it is a smear.

If they ever do come up with anything worse than she once sent Piper to bed without her dessert, nobody will believe it.

Haha - agreed.

Fox news had a piece on her home town where she did a stint as Mayor (Greta on Fox - last nite). Some of the shots were featured on Greta’s website.

Talk about bright down home people - and they nailed Sarah’s great presence. I think it’s called “passionate honesty”!!!

No matter the outcome of this campaign - Sarah will remain her clear self - she is front and center on it.

Gov. Palin represents the best of America, real America, exactly what McCain put his life on the line for. So it’s fitting that he’d choose her as V.P. And thank God for both of them.

Just look at Gov. Palin’s jaw! That alone speaks volumes of her tenacity and determination. No wonder she rose to the top!

Thanks...spread the word.

With the good Lord's help, and with a lot of elbow grease, and with blessings like Sarah Palin, we're going to win this yet.

What a woman!

In my mind it is women like her that stood with their husbands and families to come to the new world, pushed to open the west and worked to build America.

The real debate is between the Europhiles of the Left and the Americanists of the Right. The Left wants to copy Europe's ennervation and decadence court mot. The Right wants to celebrate American exceptionalism and assert America's right to be special because America is great. Obama and Sarah stand as foils in this debate - it can even called a culture war. This election will decide what kind of a country Americans want to have.

Saw it on the weekend. I had Greta down as a stone cold lib but she did a good job on that show. I think she is really taken with Sarah, as many others are.

I think Sarah is the kind of person who has "presence". Watch her charm and disarm Charlie Gibson. Wait until the barracuda charms, disarms, and dissects Biden at the debate. He might end up endorsing her, if there is anything left of him.

Having gone to Harvard myself, I’m fully in agreement with Bill Buckley and Roger Kimball.

When I showed up for the first day of term at Harvard the entire class gathered in the theater and was addressed by the Dean of Freshman. He told us that the purpose of a Harvard education was to teach us to “doubt everything” by the time we graduated.

But I remember thinking at the time, “I don’t think so, buddy.” I’ve always been a contrarian whenever some idiot stands there and tells me what I must think.

I agree...but we have to garner, tally, and certify the votes...and that takes place in November.

We cannot afford to let up, coast, or let our guard down.
