ALERT: "Environmental Ed" House Vote Thursday
Edwatch.org ^ | 9/8/2008

HR 3036, the No Child Left Inside Act (chief author John Sarbanes, Democrat, MD), gives states and schools incentives (federal grants) to conduct "environmental education" programs within existing classes. This means that when children are enrolled in history, literature, math or science, during some of their class time, they will actually be schooled in "environmental education" instead of academic subjects.

I wonder how much MORE money would be given to Al Gore if thispasses so “No child will be left behind the (powerpoint) screen” across 20 million classrooms?

Obviously the indoctrination is not complete enough.

There is now no scientific basis for the man caused global warming hoax.

What this really means is this: the liberals in Congress want America's taxpayers to fund, and legitimize, the imposition of the Al Gore type of green MARXIST propaganda on our kids in our schools.

There. Fixed that!

No matter how bad the government schools get. Parents will insist that this won't happen in their child's government school.

This portends further decline in America’s government school system. Superstition was last taught during the Dark Ages, I believe.

Today's kids are already really brainwashed. I teach 7th grade English, and I gave them a Walter Williams essay to read about how environmentalists have been wrong so many times (coming ice age, etc). We read it together, in class. Then I asked the kids what it was about.

Immediately one little girl raised her hand and began parroting about how we must take care of the Earth and recycle and global warming and...

I said, "Angelica... was that what this article was about?"

She nodded.

I was freaked. I said, "Did anyone else get anything different from it?"

Silence. I said, "Let's read this first paragraph again, okay?..."

It took them a second reading to realize they weren't being fed more pro-environmentalist stuff. They'd never heard anything else.

That is sad...

My daughter is a Junior in college, and she gets pretty mad in class when the professors start slamming the President or America, or conservatives. I ask her why she doesn't speak up. She says because she doesn't want to be ostracized.

Maybe we should shut down the department of eduction when we shut down the epa. We had neither before carter. Why do we need them now?

There is no room for “feel good” politics and laws in a free country.

It is time for the people to take over the schools and through out the Marxists that are now running them. Home schooling and charter schools are a must.

Now that was a good story. Bethanie you have an uphill battle but I commend you for taking up the fight. We need more teachers like you. I remember getting little pamphlets on protecting the planet and all that in school. The only time I heard anything different whether it be about acid rain or the ozone hole was when I discovered it myself. Luckily my parents supplied my need for reading material. What have you been up to?
