ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The leader of a statewide group of college Republicans has been forced to resign after posting racially insensitive comments about Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama on the Internet.

Adam LaDuca, 21, the former executive director of the Pennsylvania Federation of College Republicans, wrote on his Facebook page in late July that Obama has "a pair of lips so large he could float half of Cuba to the shores of Miami (and probably would.)"

LaDuca, who previously had called Martin Luther King Jr. a "pariah" and a "fraud," also wrote: "And man, if sayin' someone has large lips is a racial slur, then we're ALL in trouble."

The College Republicans asked LaDuca to resign after his remarks were publicized by the Pennsylvania Progressive, a blog written by a Democratic committeeman from Berks County. The group announced LaDuca's resignation on its Web site Friday.

Really, a stupid and ignorant remark that can be construed as racist. What an idiot.

I don’t know all the facts, but he sounds like a bigot to me on first read.

Don’t want him in the party.

He can go hang out with Pat Buchanon, Al Sharpton, David Duke, Reverand Wright, and all the other race baiters, preferably on an island with lots of sharp sticks and little food.

Just some smart-ass who thinks he’s clever enough to say something stupid and explain it away—no surprise that he has a history of doing these stunts.

As a private citizen ... true.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Hang in here kid. The same kind of things didn't stop Robert Byrd, Jesse Jackson, Joe Biden ... etc. etc. from making the big time.

What a nutjob. Had he not been assassinated, Dr. King would have become a Republican icon.

I hope this is a learning experience for this young person.

His comments would have reflected badly if some one of us in a position of authority didn’t take the action that was taken.

As it is, that we took the step we did to discipline the young person, speaks to our true position with regard to our ideals.

Stand up, Stand up with me and fight for justice and opportunity for all.

The College Republicans are not affiliated with the RNC, at least thats what they tell me when asking for donations. I asked because I have not been donating to the RNC of late, that is until I saw what filth was spewing forth towards Governor Palin. I still will not donate to the Republican Congressional Committee, not until they swear off earmarks.

Hogwash!

Civil rights aside, he would have been the same Commie sympathizer.

"You can't talk about solving the economic problem of the Negro without talking about billions of dollars. You can't talk about ending the slums without first saying profit must be taken out of slums. You're really tampering and getting on dangerous ground because you are messing with folk then. You are messing with captains of industry… Now this means that we are treading in difficult water, because it really means that we are saying that something is wrong… with capitalism… There must be a better distribution of wealth and maybe America must move toward a democratic socialism.”

Kids sometimes figure out where they stand on issues, and then get excited and overexuberant. It happens with converts, they become the most faithful of the flock. Too bad, because this will follow him for life, and it is just youthful stupidity. I doubt he’s a racist, and there are likely many young people who made similar stupid statements that are now serving all over the place, but didn’t have an internet to capture them.
