Like neighboring Montana, North Dakota has become a lot friendlier to John McCain in the first polling conducted since Sarah Palin was nominated to be the Republican Vice Presidential nominee.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of North Dakota voters shows McCain with a 14-percentage point lead over Barack Obama, 55% to 41%. In early July, the candidates were tied in the state and Obama was looking to the Dakotas and Montana as a way to expand the electoral map for Democrats. Now, the Democratic nominee appears to be more focused on traditional battleground states.

All the “red states” are coming home now. This is going to be a brutal replay of 2004... unless Obama keeps sticking his foot in his mouth, then maybe it will be a replay of 1988.

Looks like the Great Plains are safe GOP territory again. That leaves the Midwest battlegrounds, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire up for grabs.

I’ve always thought that the so called “tightness” in ND was a canard.

Been pondering this one, and MT and NM, and IMO, Sarah Palin’s real effect could be the Mtn West background, MT and SD and NM in a lot of ways are similar to Alaska.

Her background and resume’ plays really well in the Mtn West, the last two were she could make a real difference is CO and NV, IMO we should see some movement towards McCain/Palin soon.

If not...just another internet theory...lol!

‘88 was good. ‘84 was better, but ‘88 will do nicely.

Actually that’s pretty good for Obama. Bush won ND 63-36.

The folks in North Dakota know that Obama’s Windfall Profits Tax is not good for their pocketbooks. Jimmy Carters Windfall Profits Tax robbed the state of its oil money.

When this is all over, the indictments of Dean and the “50 State Strategy” are going to be viscious...

While Obama flails, the Internet crazies that are REALLY running the Obama Campaign are screaming “ATTACK, ATTACK!! ATTACK!!”.

They just cannot believe it’s all coming unglued so rapidly...

Good Grief! There are that many Whites up there who would vote for Obama??!! I can't believe it! They live in the Dakotas but want to be in on the trendy set I guess. TV culture...Hollywood culture is conquering a greater and greater percentage of Americans.

It ought to be 96 percent McCain just like majority Black precincts in Gary, Indiana are 96 percent Obama.

With some electoral projection maps showing Obama/Biden 273 vs McCain/Palin 265 those tiny 3 electoral votes matter.

Wow. Stick a real conservative on the ticket and you get a blowout. Who would have thunk it?

This couldn't meant that the country is basically, (gasp....conservative?

Bow down to Palin you lowly liberals.

Like neighboring Montana, North Dakota has become a lot friendlier to John McCain in the first polling conducted since Sarah Palin was nominated to be the Republican Vice Presidential nominee.

The people most surprised by this are probably the country club set who now control the Republican party. These country club Republicans detest the hard-working people who make up the core of the Republican party.

John McCain says he wants to shake up Washington. He needs to shake up more than Washington. He needs to shake up the country club set who control the Republican Party. And by shake up, I mean remove them from their positions of power in the party.
