(The Former Republican Senator) has called vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin a "cocky wacko" and said her selection as John McCain's running mate has energized supporters of Democrat Barack Obama.

(The Former Senator) said her speech at the Republican National Convention had the unintended effect of energizing Democrats and Obama supporters.

"People were coming into my office, phone calls were flooding in, e-mails were coming in, 'I just sent money to Obama, I couldn't sleep last night' .... To see this cocky wacko up there, HA! (the former GOP Senator) said to laughter.

Well, former Rhode Island Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee it's CLEAR to me as a FORMER Senator people are SICK OF YOU! BTW, Sarah has ENERGIZED the Republican base and demoralized the Demoncrat base. What I especially like is the attention given to the Demoncrats on their HYPOCRISY. Aren't they supposed to be the champions for women and minorities? LOL!!!!!

Dear Mr. Chafee:

If Ms. Palin is a ‘cocky wacko’, I must be a totally deranged psychopath. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going hog hunting.

Shame on the RNC for supporting Chaffee. They won’t see another dime from me as a result. If I can’t give directly to the candidate, I’ll use a vehicle like Fred’s PAC. Hopefully Sarah will lead a little spring cleaning when she gets in there.

Not a surprise. Lincoln Chaffee makes Jim Jeffords look good.

WHY President Bush and Karl Rove supported this POS against his primary opponent is something that I will NEVER understand. Thank God he lost the election anyway. Better another left-wing Democrat in the senate than a traitor like Chaffee. Not good, but better.

Maybe somebody should tell Chafee that the Kokeewhako tribe of indigenous people of Upper Middle South America don't appreciate the slur being used.

Macaca.

Nonsense. The Dims have been "energized" for two years now. It was the GOP base that needed a jolt, and Palin have it to them. ....in spades.

“Cocky wacko”...mother of five, former Mayor, and Governor of Alaska...a “cocky wacko.” Yep. Some very distempered individual at the core of this bizarre Lib-Dem campaign strategy still thinks they can win by yeowling, scratching, purse slinging, and flinging poo...but they’re running out of pejoratives. Better by a thesarus, girls. ...”cocky wacko”?

I thought Obama already had energized supporters. And they were even MORE energized after his boffo speech last Thursday — Ophrah said so through her tears of joy at the salvation her savior Obama was bringing.

So how did they get so un-energized between thursday and wednesday that they needed HER speech to energize them again?

And why doesn’t the article use the guy’s name? We all know who he is?

And why doesn’t it say “The Former Republican”, because he quit the party, instead of “The Former Republican Senator”, which implies he is still a republican but just a former senator?

Chafee and Jeffords - two reasons that one should never contribute money to the RNC.

A typical, old has-been who refuses to take any responsibility for his his own shortcomings in failing to retain his seat, despite a huge amount of money from the Republican Party. Instead, his HUGE ego has convinced him that his former party is to blame.

Yep...he is the “Cocky Wacko” one and a perfect Democrat.
