I thought Obama didn’t lobbyist money? Where is Biden on the list?

Well, to be honest, total money recently went 56% Democrat, and it leaned Republican back when they were in control of congress. That’s not exactly Autoworker’s Union percentages.

But certainly the Democrats are well represented in the top ranks. I’m surprised Nancy Pelosi hasn’t done better, and I don’t see Harry Reid.

But it’s not a surprise that Chris Dodd is right at the top, the dirty crook.

"Isnt it the dems that almost bankrupted them along with the rest of us?!"

I honestly don't know where the blame lies in this snafu, however I have read that both companies were composed mostly of dimmacrats. I heard the Dr. Weiner Show the other day, when he placed a great deal of blame on GWB, for his policy of encouraging very favorable home loan requirement standards for minorities, thereby setting the stage for this sub-prime meltdown.

After going to the link, and obtaining the data for the top 25 Congressional recipients of Fannie & Freddie campaign contributions, here are some more stats (for the top 25):

Among the Top 25
64% Democrats (16), 35% GOP (9)
44% Senators (11), 56% House Members (14)

From the dollars to the top 25 ($1,386,426)
69.73% to Democrats ($966,778), 30.27% to GOP ($419,648)

Of the dollars to the top 25
Average gift to Democrats $60,424, to GOP $46,628
Highest gift, $133,900 to Democrat (actually the top five highest gifts were to Democrats)

From the Top 25, Among the 11 Contributions to Senators
72.73% Democrats (8), 27.27% GOP (3)

From the dollars to the 11 Senators in the top 25 ($813,328)
78.86% to Democrats ($641,429) 21.14% to GOP ($171,899)

From the dollars to the 11 Senators in the top 25
Average gift to Democrats $80,179, to GOP $57,300

From the Top 25, Among the 14 Contributions to House Members
57.14% Democrats (8), 42.86% GOP (6)

From the dollars to the 14 House Members in the top 25 ($813,328)
56.77% to Democrats ($325,349), 43.23% to GOP ($247,749
)

It’s quite obvious which party was getting the most from (in numbers and dollars), and offering the most protection to, Fannie and Freddie.
