“Come on, it is a commonly used expression. Say what will about Obama, but he’s neither mean-spirited nor (more importantly) stupid enough to outright call a woman a pig. The story has no legs.”

It’s a commonly used expression that was used in a certain context - and said in a certain way, that gave his audience no doubt what he meant.
That is why they started to chant “no pit bull!”

The lipstick thing was also being used as a talking point by other dems.

Everyone remembers Palin’s lipstick comment at the convention.

I’ll tell you what - I’ve heard this expression many times, but when I heard that from Obama - considering the context?
And then I heard “pig”? I immediately recoiled.
And so did many women across america.

BTW - Obama IS mean spirited - and he is also stupid.

IMO Barry O is pompous, mean-spirited and stupid enough to think he can say something like that and get away with it. If he didn't mean it... when the audience reacted the way they did he should have corrected what he said right away....unless he is totally out of touch. The "clinging to guns and religion" remark is just as stupid and arrogant....
