I don't believe this story has a chance of gaining any traction.

If the average voter can't be sympathetic towards people who become addicted to painkillers after suffering chronic pain, then there really is no hope for this country.

I know the hard-core extremists went after Rush for this, but I think the rest of the people understood.

I think people will see right through it. The media is so partisan that people just dismiss anything they write about the Palins or the McCains even if it is true because its politically motivated to inflict damage upon them. Let the MSM/Drivebys keeping right on digging!

I believe you are correct. I honestly don’t think there isn’t one person in this country who doesn’t personally know someone who has gone through something similar. I know at least 3 myself — all who had problems with pain killers after car accidents, surgery, etc...
