David Miliband subjected to 'F-word' tirade from Russian foreign minister
Telegraph ^ | September 12, 2008 | Andrew Porter

David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, was subjected to a tirade of four-letter abuse when he spoke to his Russian counterpart over the country's invasion of Georgia.

The Daily Telegraph can disclose that Sergei Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, reacted with fury when Mr Miliband and he spoke on the telephone. Mr Lavrov objected to being lectured by the British.

Such was the repeated use of the "F-word" according to one insider who has seen the transcript, it was difficult to draft a readable note of the conversation.

One unconfirmed report suggested that Mr Lavrov said: "Who are you to f------ lecture me?"

He also asked Mr Miliband in equally blunt terms whether he knew anything of Russia's history.

One Whitehall insider said: "It was effing this and effing that. It was not what you would call diplomatic language. It was rather shocking."

The Foreign Secretary had been putting forward Britain and Europe's objections to the actions of Russia, which began when their tanks rolled into the breakaway region of South Ossetia last month. Mr Miliband has said that Europe should reassess its ties with Russia after its "aggressive" behaviour.

It is also understood that Mr Miliband was asked about Britain and America's invasion of Iraq, when Russian actions in Georgia were questioned, during the tense conversation that took place recently.

Sources at the Foreign Office confirmed there was swearing "but only from one side".

I guess Sergei Lavrov will now be known as the Russian “F” man who has a failing grade of “F” on his diplomacy scorecard.

As nearly as I can tell, therer seem to be three issues involved in this one i.e. Kosovo, the BTC pipeline, and the quesiton of NATO wanting to operate on Russia’s doorstep. The first and last items are obvious enough, the second one might not be to most westerners. I would GUESS that Russians might figure that other than for the sacrifice of some 20,000,000 lives, all of that Caucasus and Central Asian oil would have ended up belonging to Adolf Hitler and that the Georgians and Central Asians and what not would have been processed into soap and lampshades. Ideally, we should be producing our OWN oil and should not have to give a rat’s *** what goes on in the Caucasus or Central Asia.

Wow, this Russian “Great Patriotic War” was actually a major blood for oil conflict?

Just speaking language his excellency the Russian foreign minister can understand.

There are vastly worse things going on all around the world which we don’t read the first word about in our newspapers. Other than that as I noted there are two issues involved aside from oil. South Ossetia is something like 99,999% Russian demographically; Kosovo was only about 80% Albanian in 1999. Russians have repeatedly warned the west that there would be a price tag for Kosovo and nobody listened.

I wonder if Miliband had the courage to denounce the bastards vulgarities. Ribbentrop did the same, lowbrow routine with Nevile Henderson just prior to the outbreak of WW2... and the old man set him straight.

"Господин Лавров" doesn't suit the next part of the sentence.

Probably a MoveOn or Code Pink member. A Democrat party member for sure.

I understand and agree with your sentiment on energy independence (see my tag line). But the option of ignoring the Caucasus or Central Asia went out the window on 11 September 2001.

Becoming energy independent will reduce the outflow of wealth from the developed world to the oil oligarchs and that is a good thing. But it will do nothing to reduce the threat posed by the Islamofascist terrorists and their supporters/fellow travelers.

It is rightly named "the long war."

South Ossetia is something like 99,999% Russian demographically

Do you mean they're Russian by ethnicity, or that they have an ethnicity which lives inside the Russian Federation, or that they have Russian citizenship?

"Господин Лавров" doesn't suit the next part of the sentence.

On the contrary, it emphasizes the rest of the sentence. Sharpens the effect.

Like, "My dear Mr. Lavrov, you b^&*$#d."

There is no artistry in just stringing together four-letter words and f-bombs. Or in Russian yob-bombs. Anybody can do that.

After this, therefore because of this.

I don't see the connection between slammite fascism and Russia. In fact of the nations on Earth I'd want to have as an ally in any sort of a war against slammite fascism, Russia would be number two or three on the list. They've been dealing with lunatic slammites since the days of the Golden Horde and Tamerlane and still have borders with all kinds of lunatic slammites.

What really gets to me is that we had a superb opportunity to make an ally out of Russia sitting there in the late 80s and early 90s and SlicKKK KKKlintler blew it by bombing a totally innocent Slavic Orthodox Christian nation for 80 days and nights including Easter Sunday for the benefit of slammite narco-terrorists, to take Chinagate and Juanita Broaddrick off the front pages of newspapers.

This little girl's name was Milica Rakic. At three years of age when she was killed by a NATO/KKKlintonista bomb hundreds of kilometers from anything anybody could have called a legitimate military target (hint, there WEREN'T ANY legit military targets in that one), Milica likely had the dubious distinction of being SlicKKK KKKlintler's youngest female victim. There were several thousand other and similar stories arising from Dog-Wag III (Kosovo) and that's part of what Russians are pissed at.

If you want this effect than "Господин Лавров, идите нахуй" sounds much better. "Ёб твою мать" is used as an interjection.
