To me this proves that "Bush Doctrine" is mostly a smear term used by the liberal press inside the beltway and a few other big cities. The others who use it are the neocons (Jonathan Last, the editorialist, is a neocon). That's a small circle. Other than that people don't know or don't care about the term irregardless of their knowledge of Bush's foreign policy.

I just can’t understand the kerfluffle. The Bush Doctrine was put forth in ten simple words;
“...you are either with us, or you’re with the terrorists.”

The Bush Doctrine was put forth in My point is "The Bush Doctrine" does not appear in any of the hundreds of pages of official documents describing it. It's an inside-the-beltway term, no matter what it means.

I’m betting there are different definitions for this term as well.
I’m certain that I think of it differently than yo-yo’s like Gibson and the beltway press corps. does. In fact, I’m certain that I couldn’t define the term for him either, at least not in a way that would pass muster with the elites.
The arrogance of assuming that every one knows what the “bush doctrine” is is simply astonishing.
