To me this proves that "Bush Doctrine" is mostly a smear term used by the liberal press inside the beltway and a few other big cities. The others who use it are the neocons (Jonathan Last, the editorialist, is a neocon). That's a small circle. Other than that people don't know or don't care about the term irregardless of their knowledge of Bush's foreign policy.

My point is "The Bush Doctrine" does not appear in any of the hundreds of pages of official documents describing it. It's an inside-the-beltway term, no matter what it means.

I’m certain that I think of it differently than yo-yo’s like Gibson and the beltway press corps. does. In fact, I’m certain that I couldn’t define the term for him either, at least not in a way that would pass muster with the elites.

The arrogance of assuming that every one knows what the “bush doctrine” is is simply astonishing.
