Nahh, its a real story, here’s a TV station’s report.
http://www.wftv.com/news/17455966/detail.html

I’m just thinking this through. The cops and the prosecutor really screwed this case up. Under the Florida criminal code (see my post above), the 15 year old boy committed at least one felony and the 15 year old girl was the victim. So by the police stupidly arresting and the State Attorney stupidly charging the victim’s father, look at what these idiots have done:

1. They’re released the identity of an juvenile sex victim— even if the article doesn’t mention her first name, presumably its the same last name as her father and certainly the same address. The whole town will know exactly who she is. And anyone in the future who googles her last name and her hometown will come up with this story.

2. They’ve released the identity of an juvenile offender. By the undisputed facts of the newspaper article, the kid committed a felony (in FL, being naked with a girl under 15 does the trick). They really shouldn’t have put his name in the paper. Even if charges are never filed, just like with the poor girl, this story is going to follow him around forever on the internet. There’s a reason police and prosecutors typically don’t identify juvenile offenders (notice the plaintiff name in the Supreme Court case upthread).

Because they went after the wrong guy, the authorities publicly humiliated two juveniles whose identities would have been been protected if the cops had done their job and arrested the felon and not the homeowner. What a bunch of idiots.
