Udall Spends Millions, Loses Ground(1.3 million spent against Steve Pearce and lead dwindles)

Albuquerque - Today, People for Pearce Campaign Manager John Billingsley pointed out that Tom Udall has now spent more than $1.3 million on misleading television ads only to see his 28-point lead evaporate in just over a month.

"The verdict is in: Tom Udall and his friends on the extreme left are spending millions to mislead New Mexican voters about Steve Pearce and it hasn't worked," said Billingsley. "To the contrary, New Mexicans are rejecting Udall's anti-drilling, anti-nuclear, pro-tax increase policies in favor of Steve Pearce's honesty, integrity and straight forward New Mexico values."

This week, a Rasmussen poll showed Pearce reducing Udall's lead to just 7 points, a 21 point difference from the same poll conducted in late July.

"We expect Udall and his west coast extremist allies to ramp up spending the closer we get to the election. However, all the ads on TV won't let Udall hide from his record of opposing the interests of New Mexicans for more than a decade," added Billingsley. "The media, bloggers and people of New Mexico are finally asking the tough questions and Udall won't be able to duck them for long."

Steve is closing in on liberal Udall. The biggest critique of him is that he is "too conservative". He is running on that conservatism and contrasting himself with the Udall's liberal record. Please help/volunteer/contribute what you can.

The Rasmussen survey is a good sign. Do other polls show the same result?

It will be great if both of the Udall cousins lose their Senate races.

Check out this ad about Udall’s support for the Dept. of Peace—it’s the funniest ad I’ve ever seen.

It is just great. Too many times the right wing intelligentsia in collusion with the left wing intelligentsia manage to convince us that running against liberalism doesn’t work. Well it does work and not only does it work it brings people to the polls that have been looking for real common man common sense conservatism. Steve has been going after Udall as a liberal and hitting him over and over again on Energy. I love to see this race working out so well. I’ve been noticing some positive movement here in Virginia for Jim Gilmore, I think come next poll we are going to see his hard work and new ad starting to pay off. We need badly to keep New Mexico and Virginia. The national party is a fool focusing on Landrieu. I thought she was venerable but they aren’t hitting her on Katrina like they should. If they start pounding her on her incompetence on Katrina they can win that race. Wicker is doing an excellent job in Mississippi against the false moderate Musgrove.

I’m very happy generally with what I’m seeing. I’ve seen local Gop here in VA working more in concert and stopping the stupid post primary bickering.

Is Pearce a Republican?

Do you suppose his gains on Udall reflect a backlash against Obama and his thug politics; the ugly, nasty attacks on Sarah Palin; and the ruthless pro-Obama propaganda of the Corrupt "Newsmedia"?
