Charlie did not do his job—i.e. embarrass Gov. Palin or throw her off message. Ergo the politically, ahem, unbiased Gannet local paper didn’t even bother to run it in today’s paper. It could have been because the 10-11 PM broadcast was too late—or they can use that as an excuse. But given the hype and expectations on all sides of this “interview”, one would have thought they could have gotten something in today’s paper. I wonder if it will be in the Sunday paper? Just for the record that was conceived of and executed as a “hit” piece. Sadly for Gibson, Gov. Palin refused to go along with his script. That’s why they had to put together the 7 or 8 minute intro so as to make sure Gibson could get his points in without challenge. What a joke these people are. But the good news is that all of them are finally being unmasked for who they are. Thank you Gov. Palin. The pressure on her to perform must have been enormous given the stakes involved—the presidency of the US. She pulled it off with civility, honor and aplomb. I think I would have had a hard time not punching Gibson in the mouth. At the very least I would have called off the interview and told him to come back when he was prepared to be professional.
He’s not a nice guy. He’s a hack, pure and simple.
Gibson interviewed Palin like she was the dictator of Iran or a serial killer or an alien from out of space. There was less rapport in this interview than I’ve even seen without it being an obviously hostile one.
When OJ gets interviewed, it looks a lot like this. Nobody cares how OJ is doing in life cuz they only want to find out whether he is going to confess to killing Nicole and Ron.
