I saw some silly article awhile back that the rodham boys and friends are on a stealth path to get McCain elected....a woman shunned or to save her chance for 2012......sounded loony, but heck what about the clintoons isn’t?

Didn’t kerry win PA by 130,00 votes, 52 to 48%? Are you telling me that the clintons can’t flip 65,000 votes for McCain? If Obama dumps biden as veep, and picks hillary it’s a solid blue state. If this doesn’t happen Easy Ed and the Clinton machine will set their sites on 2012. And this means Obama must lose PA. And his loss nationwide must be total. He must lose in such a fashion that he’ll be humilated and unable to gain the nomination in 2012
Obama done a good job of losing this state himself. So I’ve got PA going to Big Mac and the Barracuda so long as biden remains the veep.

Another factor for PA and MI....

The Bradly effect is always far higher in states with larger black populations. Especially those with large black majority cities.

I'll leave it to others to figure out why.

In my section of the Philly burbs, this mostly Dem section has NO Obama signs. Even the house of my activist-Dem neighbor on the corner has no Obama sign.

what plays in Obama's favor is the high voting population in Philly, which can offset the entire state.

Saw a union guy in my neighborhood who had been out drumming up voter's sigs for Kerry, said he refused to do it for them this year -- he's voting McCain. BO is spending money bringing in outsiders, whereas McCain is getting local help. Drain those marxist coffers!       ;^)

"Obama has his own people on the ground, but it remains to be seen if Fast Eddie’s machine is actually going to be on Obama’s side."

I've been thinking about that too. Fast Eddie is a die hard Clinton loyalist. With the Clintons, Loyalty to them surpasses all, party and ideology take a back seat. Will fast Eddie reeeeeeally work hard to help Obama carry PA? I have my doubts.

Historically, people who are too indifferent to register on their own, don’t vote either. Of course that doesn’t stop the registrar from voting for them, as has happened before.

I think the Donks are going to pull out all the stops on vote fraud this time around. If there is less than 110% turnout of African Americans in Philadelphia, I will eat my hat.

A guy in my neighborhood repainted the red trim on his house to blue, and had osama signs in his windows. I went by the other day, house trim is still blue, no signs in window.

I believe that in the last election, Philadelphia voters turned out 120% of registered voters! For Kerry, of course.

"He adds that what plays in Obama's favor is the high voting population in Philly, which can offset the entire state."

The last sentence in the article is the ONLY thing that has any meaning to how PA will vote in the next election. Has the Philly population increased by half, doubled, etc. since 2004?

The rest of us may as well stay home because there isn't enough population in the rest of the state to make up for the fraud perpetrated by the Democrats in Philly. That has been proven in successive elections as the voting population of Philly grows while the census shrinks.

We’re in Montgomery County (Phila Suburbs). Our area typically has a lot of democrat yard signs. This year I’m seeing far fewer Obama signs than I did Kerry, Gore or Clinton. McCain signs are popping up in encouraging numbers. I wouldn’t count PA out - not at all. Our community is about 40% Jewish, which is part of the Dems strength locally. If they’re reluctant to back Obama, we could have an interesting election.

I don’t live in your backyard Mister Gridlock, but if I did, I would DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Mobilize the PA FReepers and the few R’s you’ve got and immediately get into the Supervisor of Elections office and become pollworkers and pollwatchers. You need to knock the illigitimate personages (I use the term loosely) off the voter roles prior to Election Day.

Please get busy and do it now, if you begin eliminating these PERPS, they will be much less likely to try and show up to vote and will tone it down. You can’t keep giving them free reigns to destroy your PA neighborhoods and this country.

And unfortunately, you need some young MUSCLE guys to stand their ground and enter their precincts on Election Day. I suggest looking to the Young Republican Club (if you have one) and College Republicans. They have the nerve and the brains to outright challenge the PERPS & catch them in the act.

Ditto here on the north side of Chicago. I have seen three signs and one bumper sticker for Obama on the 6 mile route to downtown. I pass through Lincoln Park, Buck Town and Lakeview which are all hardcore Chablis Sipping Democrat neighborhoods.

One Democrat That's Defending Sarah Palin

“Party Pooper

Illinois Democratic governor and Barack Obama supporter Rod Blagojevich is taking his own party to task for belittling Sarah Palin’s experience. Blagojevich said on a Chicago radio station Thursday, “Governors every day have to make decisions for better or for worse. That's part of the job. It's an executive position... I think it's a tactical mistake for the Democrats to question Governor Palin’s experience when she's been governor of a state.”

Blagojevich added that criticizing the size of Governor Palin’s electorate is also a mistake. “I don't think the size of the state is relevant. It's the kinds of decisions you have to make as governor,” he said.

Game Changer

Analysts often say this is a Democratic year, especially in Congressional races. But John McCain's recent momentum appears to be bleeding over to November's Congressional races.

A new USA Today Gallup survey of registered voters shows Democrats now lead Republicans by just three percentage points — 48 to 45 — in a generic ballot preference for Congress. That number is down from a consistent double-digit Democratic lead over the past year and an 11 point advantage at the beginning of this month.”

FYI, Mayor Daley has been very quiet lately and Downtown Chicago are barren of Obama Signs! There are none. Maybe it is too early...hmmmm!

Do we really think there’s going to be a Bradley effect? I know I have been saying this for a while myself but I don’t want to get to the point of believing my own spin. I’d just hate to think we are going to win and then not and have the polls turn out as predicted.

Seen while driving home last week from another PA road-trip near Route 25: "Bitter Street."

I think McCain is going to take Pa.

I live a few miles from Carbondale. I haven't seen 1 Obama yard sign. I've only seen a couple McCain signs but I'm starting to see more McCain stickers on cars. I just got my McCain/Palin sticker today.

I checked to see if McCain had a local office but when I checked (about a week ago) he only had a Harrisburg office which leads me to believe that while the campaign is running ads they are not yet totally committed in the state.

O/T but do you drive from Wmsport to C'dale every day? That's got to be 2 hours.

I usually only do it on Mondays as I travel the rest of the week.
