The terrorist attacks on America of September 11, 2001 resulted in a wave of patriotism that had not been seen in decades. The shared enthusiasm for the country and the flag were strong and widespread.

It created difficulties for reporters, however, who try to professionally earn and keep people's trust by avoiding personal partisan displays while reporting the news.

It was not only ABC but many other media outlets who struggled with trying to preserve their image as journalists

Hey, it’s not right to take sides between the America and terrorists. That is the new ‘patriotism’.

Understandable. It creates an IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) problem for them.

Since when is wearing an American flag, if you are an American, wrong? Why shouldn't American journalists(spit)wear American flags. Just because they are journalists(spit)doesn't mean they give up their citizenship rights, or does it? Does this mean none of the journalists(spit)will vote in the upcoming and other future elections in order not to appear partisan? Does this mean they will no longer be in the tank for Democrats?

They don't really stand by their creed do they except for the part about hating America, that they do very well.

“ABC News Discourages the Wearing of American Flag Pins by Reporters”

Wise decision by ABC News. After all, terrorist supporters should not wear American flag lapel pins.

This FReeper discourages any other FReeper from watching ABC, or supporting an ABC sponsor.

This FReeper encourages any other FReeper to write letters protesting their buying time on ABC to those sponsors.

Shakespeare didn't get it quite right...

It should have been:

"The first thing we do, is kill all the lawyers and Leftist journalists"

Got news for these dirtbags, our Constitution and this great country we live in protects the right for them to report the truth, which by the way, many of them are guilty of not doing.

“Barbara Walters “...it may confuse the audience.”

She’s got a point. When the overriding theme is “why we should hate America”, wearing a flag pin would send a mixed message, unless they wore them upside down. I agree that for a MSM journalist to display an American flag is a contradiction; they would be more consistent if they wore a hammer and sicle, or a red crescent.

American Broadcasting Channel? Doesn’t sound right.

I thought it was American Broadcasting Companies...

But it doesn’t really matter - the only thing American about ABC is that part of their name. A Disney company that is about as anti-America as a ticked off commie KGB agent...

No, that won’t work...
We would STILL have to endure their behavior until they die a natural death.....

For far too many, that would be far too long....
I’m approaching 70, and would like to enjoy some years of peace and freedom from their obnoxious influences and impacts.

At times, one must step up to the task and whack the bastards.
It really isn’t as difficult as some may think.....

Very interesting. I remember Charlie Gibson asking “The Chosen One” about why he was wearing a flag pin during the last democratic debate.

“We would STILL have to endure their behavior until they die a natural death.....”

Maybe it’s wishful thinking...
But I feel, strongly, that this process of self destruct on the part of the left has already begun....

The “silent majority” is no longer silent....
