(CNN) -- Sarah Palin did not visit troops in Iraq, a spokesperson for the Republican vice presidential nominee confirmed Saturday, as new details emerged about the extent of the Alaska governor's foreign travel. Gov. Sarah Palin's aide confirmed to CNN details of her foreign travel Saturday.

In July of last year, Palin left North America for the first time to visit Alaskan troops stationed in Kuwait. Palin officials originally said her itinerary included U.S. military installations or outposts in Germany and Kuwait, and that she had visited Ireland.
A Palin aide in Alaska said Iraq was also one of the stops on that trip.
The Boston Globe reported Saturday that Palin visited the Iraqi side of a border crossing -- but never journeyed past the checkpoint. Earlier, campaign aides confirmed reports that Palin's time in Ireland on that trip had actually been a refueling stop.

I was never aware that she ever claimed to have visited Iraq in the first place. So, lemme see, the drive-bys want to focus on the fact that a GOVERNOR visited wounded troops in KUWAIT near the theater of action while OBAMA wouldn’t visit wounded troops hundreds of miles from the area of combat??? Is that really where they want to go?
I just had an argument with a moonbat about this. She was never in Iraq he said. He gave me a WAPO article that the headline said “Palin Never in Iraq” The WAPO article linked to a Boston Globe article, that said she was in Iraq on the border.

Oh, some damn naive “aide” was trying to be too helpful when she mentioned the border checkpoint and the refueling stop in Ireland. No doubt they have been told to be honest..
Now they need to be REALLY educated on what slime journalism is about, that Sarah is being stalked by smear merchants, and told that if they MUST answer any question or make any comment, they must always insist on being quoted by name and on the record and keep good notes. They should all have a briefing from Scooter libby.

My guess is that the Alaska National Guard was either in prep for entry to Iraq or they were stationed in Kuwait their entire tour.
Either way, it sounds like she visited the Alaska National Guard on that trip

It’s now clear that Palin had gone to Kuwait and visited our Troops and that Obama went to Iraq and Germany to get photos taken of himself shooting hoops, instead of visiting our injured Troops, who were waiting for the arrogant phony ass.
Oh, and one more thing.... Palin NEVER said that she had gone to Iraq, but Obama and his traitorous media (msm), can’t open their mouths without lying, and he can’t travel abroad without insulting our Troops and embarrassing our country.
