CNN Conjures Up Palin Travel 'Scandal' That Never Was

Did you know that Sarah Palin has never been to Mongolia? Yeah, and despite the fact she never claimed to have visited there, we are making a big deal about it because of the impression she left only in our fervid imaginations that she did indeed visit Mongolia.

Think that was ridiculous? Well, guess what? That is exactly what CNN is doing with a manufactured scandal that Sarah Palin never visited Iraq. The problem for CNN is that Palin never claimed to have visited Iraq. Here is her answer in the recent ABC interview with Charles Gibson about her foreign travel:

Canada. Mexico. And then, yeah, that trip that was a trip of a lifetime, to visit our troops in Kuwait and stop and visit our injured soldiers in Germany. That was a trip of a lifetime and it changed my life.

Thank you. It’s so ridiculous. Especially Obama’s camp crying about McCain inflating the crowd estimates!
LOL
Those are the signs of a losing campaign.

I never knew who Charles Gibson was before the Palin interview. But now I shall have a terrible impression of him forever in my mind.

This is beginning to sound like a campaign in its death knells. Some sort of final agony. It’s beginning to get painful to watch (but not too painful).

“Especially Obama’s camp crying about McCain inflating the crowd estimates!”

OMG people connected to the actual campaign are saying that? What a bunch of losers. I thought Obama almighty was going to show us how above all of this he is.

This is the first i have heard of this,

Obama Visit to Pakistan in the 80s Raises Questions

http://www.conservativeoutpost.com/new_questions_surfacing_regarding_obamas_past

Obama was in Pakistan for about three weeks, said the campaign, staying with his friend’s family in Karachi and also visiting Hyderabad in Southern India.

Pakistan in 1981 was under military rule. It was difficult for U.S. citizens to travel to the country without assistance. It would have been easier for someone to enter Pakistan on an Indonesian passport.

Now, I have been very busy and not able to follow everything, but I distinctly remember Sarah Palin saying “Kuwait” not “Iraq.”

I’ve been scratching my head wondering what the kerfuffle was about. As usual...total bullsh*t!

Thanks for posting this article. It saved me time having to research it.

This is getting beyond the outrageous point.

Unfortunately, large parts of America are more interested in the soap opera of Hollywood. Just look at the magazine rack at the grocery store.

This is a non-story on a slow news day manufactured by the very same bobble-heads who will dissect it.

True, but the point is Palin did go to Kuwait to visit the troops, and she has never said she was in Iraq. Now supposedly CNN is saying some anonymous aide in Alaska said Sarah was in Iraq, but IF this aide even exists and said that, she just misspoke, because nobody in McCain's camp is trying to claim Sarah was in Iraq. Palin never mentioned Iraq, always Kuwait.
CNN trying to be a mouth piece for Obama’s camp, and the way CNN reports on this like it's some big scandal.
“Details are becoming available about Palin's foreign travel”, as if there was something hide.

Yes, according to the newsbusters link in this thread.

The Obama campaign -- which has increasingly accused the McCain campaign of deliberately lying in ads and on the stump -- was quick to highlight that story, along with a news report that explored whether the McCain campaign has been sending out wildly inflated crowd estimates.
