Bobby Cox has very well managed past his prime. He's is very appreciated for building the Braves into a competing team but he has made many bone-headed managerial decisions in the post season. This is a quote I took from a poster from the Braves message board that sums it up:

"Smoltz, Glavine and Maddux sure did make Cox look good until the postseason (except 1995). Winning in the regular season was generally a no pressure situation but when it came to crunch time (postseason) Cox failed to prepare the team and make the right in game decisions. The postseason is when a manager actually has to MANAGE in a sudden death situation. Winning only 1 WS in 14 attempts is...IMO...a very poor record...

I agree, 1 for 14 is lousy.

If it were football he’d have fired for repeatedly failing in the post-season.
