Why Feminists Hate Sarah Palin
Wall Street Journal ^ | September 15, 2008 | CATHY YOUNG

Posted on 09/14/2008 10:48:06 PM PDT by kingattax

Left-wing feminists have a hard time dealing with strong, successful conservative women in politics such as Margaret Thatcher. Sarah Palin seems to have truly unhinged more than a few, eliciting a stream of vicious, often misogynist invective.

On Salon.com last week, Cintra Wilson branded her a "Christian Stepford Wife" and a "Republican blow-up doll." Wendy Doniger, religion professor at the University of Chicago Divinity School, added on the Washington Post blog, "Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman."

You'd think that, whether or not they agree with her politics, feminists would at least applaud Mrs. Palin as a living example of one of their core principles: a woman's right to have a career and a family. Yet some feminists unabashedly suggest that her decision to seek the vice presidency makes her a bad and selfish mother. Others argue that she is bad for working mothers because she's just too good at having it all.

Everyone is coming up with suggestions for just why the leftards hate Sarah so much.

I think all of these reasons are valid, and each reason is yet another component, big or small, of Leftists' overall hatred.

But over the past 8 years I've started to notice a common thread among all the people who they seemingly reserve their most incendiary hatred for. The people they seem to hate the worst - Sarah, Dubya, John Ashcroft, Clarence Thomas, James Dobson, Mel Gibson, and many more - are all serious, dedicated, practicing Christians. Conservative Christians, that is. "Religious Right," if you will.

I'm sure we can look more closely and find exceptions to this suggestion of mine, but on the whole I think it's one of the largest, if not the largest, factor in cases where the libs go absolutely, foaming-at-the-mouth, nuclear-ballistic in their hatred.

When they start in with the Nazi talk, they’re just telling the world that they’ve run out of ideas. These clot-heads claim to be Internet-aware, but they don’t know about Godwin’s Law.

Feh.

We had wondered what the kooks would do once the object of their hatred left office in 2009. Who would the blame for all the bad things in their life and in the world? It turns out that George Bush was only the warm up act for the most vile lefty venom. They are much more afraid of Sarah Palin.

It's ironic how clear-cut the hysterical feminists have made the choice for America's women voters.

Do you want to follow the angry, screaming name-callers or a rational and courageous wife and mother with a smile, a positive message and a glowing radiance?

Some tough choice that is.

From article: I find her [Gov Palin] can-do feminism infinitely more liberated than the what-can-the-government-do-for-me brand espoused by the sisterhood.

Home run, Cathy Young. Bang-on. Modern feminism was not about being ruggedly independent, but rather, bending the taxpayer over to pay for whatever feminism demanded.

“Some tough choice that is.”

Hhhhuuuummmm, Rosie O’Donnell (sorry for invoking that image on you all this early in the morning) - NOW Poster Woman or; Governor Sarah Palin - the new face of the GOP...

Yeah, tough, tough choice there.

It’s about abortion, the sacrament of the left. Palin won’t use her power in office to make it easy for mothers to kill their babies, so the feminazis are demonizing her.
This is why I support Palin.

The utter hypocrisy of the left has been exposed. I wonder if the majority of women see that Democrats are trying to take women back a century or more.

Author has it all wrong. Feminazi’s hate her because of PDS. Irrational hatred.

These people are clearly UNHINGED!

Rush was talking about the background of Cintra Wilson...she's a fine one to talk about someone being unsuited for leadership and motherhood!

Palin has the Left in total panic mode and they're sinking fast!

...a "Republican blow-up doll."

Would Hillary EVER be called a "RAT blow-up doll?" (Okay, the 'doll' part is a stretch, but the question still stands.)
