Excerpt -

UNITED NATIONS (AFP)--The U.N. General Assembly on Monday agreed to begin negotiations on expanding the membership of the powerful Security Council no later than next Feb. 28.

After hours-long bargaining, the assembly adopted by consensus a resolution on Security Council enlargement on the last day of its 62nd session.

It said the aim was to "garner the widest possible political acceptance by member states."

During the transitional period, a number of configurations including a repartitioning of seats on a regional basis and the most delicate, the veto- wielding power of the five permanent members, could be considered.

We need to remain in the United Nations as long as we have the Security Council veto. We can veto everything if necessary.

But if Barack Obama is elected, he would probably be willing to consider surrendering our veto power.

The 5 permanent members with veto powers are the most significant, important and the foundation of the security council. The other members can only whisper sweet nothings to the elder 5.

Why retain the UN, has it done anything useful for the world in the last 25 years? It's been one hoax after the other. Recently it was the oil fro WMDs and more recently it's the climate change hoax. How is this useful for mankind.

I say we get rid of the Security Council altogether and replace it with one all-powerful nation, to be decided by who has the most nuclear warheads. It’ll be like when I have an argument with my sister and I suggest we settle it by armwrestling. She never agrees to do it that way.

Ah yes!

Maybe the UN needs to add to the Security Counsel:

Cuba; Venezula; Syria; No Korea; Palastinian States; Iran; Yemen; Somalia!

Aren’t these the countries that need super representation at the Socialist debating Society along the East River???

Why bother?
The U.N. is just a bunch of countries ganging up to trash the U.S. and to try to get more of our money for their socialist programs.
