I’ve some inlaws who are arrogant libs (but I repeat myself). I’m sure they think they have the intellect edge on little ol’ me, since their dad paid for them to go to “elite” colleges while I went to state college on scholarships. However, I’m sure the 3rd time they took the SAT didn’t top my “cold” 1st take.
Libs are a bunch of 14 yr olds that haven’t grown out of their “I know everything and am smarter than anyone else who ever lived” stage.
I have met very few really smart people with a lick of common sense. Not something I recommend in leadership any day.

I would quarrel with your definition of smart, you seem to mean people with monster IQ scores. IQ only seems to measure a limited part of intelligence. There seems to me to be a whole range of abilities that lie outside the scope of that type of test. What we call common sense is only part of what lies outside it.
I have shared your experience, unfortunately I have a stepson age 33 who has a genius level IQ, holds a computer science degree and lacks the common knowledge and “survivor” capability of a third grade dropout field hand of fifty years ago.
I can’t stop laughing. What a doofus, how many people does he think will be tickled pink to hear how dumb they are? He has liberal disconnect syndrome.
He is smart enough to have them hidden, scary.
Just goes to show you how out of touch Obama and Biden are. Their opinion of small towns comes from watching reruns of “Green Acres”.

When people grew up on farms they all had,”common sense” because it was necessary for survival. The farm was a training ground for life that is hard to duplicate in the suburbs. I was really struck in the face with this at a recent family gathering. The small fry wanted to roast marshmallows over a fire and I was the only adult in the group who was capable of building a fire. I kid you not. The only thing the others knew how to do was pour charcoal lighter on the wood and light it, as soon as it burned off that was the end of it. I rounded up some dry grass and whatever else I saw and started the fire. My brother-in-law who is in his fifties could not start the fire. I was astounded.
They keep saying he graduated at the top of his class at Harvard.
I presume they have provided evidence for this, and I would think you’d have to have some ability to beat out all the other people at Harvard.
Of course, this is grad school. At the time, did a lot of Harvard grad students get A’s? How do you get to be the “top” of a grad class?
I think Biden just meant the Barack is so nicely dressed that he stands out because peasants aren't used to seeing such an attractive figure

While the JAG plays a role in the military which is essential, their role in a combat region is questionable. Thanks for your information on this. When I heard that Biden had a son in IRAQ, I gave him the benefit of the doubt that it was a combat role.
To second guess troops in battle. To ensure their punishment when they don't play by the Marquis of Queensbury's rules with the terrorists. To make them scared to engage and destroy the enemy for fear of legal reprisals for their actionas under fire.
You just know that he wants to make a legal name for himself as the prosecutor in a atrocity trial whether or not any atrocity occurred.
