TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The son of U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd is facing alien smuggling charges in Arizona.
The Democratic congressman, who is seeking a seventh term this November, said Tuesday that his 30-year-old son, John Boyd, was arrested Sunday on the human trafficking charges.
In a statement from his office, Congressman Boyd said his son is a grown man and must face the consequences for his actions but has the support of the family.
Boyd is being challenged by Panama City Republican Mark Mulligan in the Nov. 4 general election.

Boyd is being challenged by Panama City Republican Mark Mulligan in the Nov. 4 general election. So, by deduction I guess, Boyd is a Democrat? Gee, why wouldn't the local paper have made that explicit in the opening sentence?

You might want to read the second word in the second sentence. I know you probably expected to have to hunt for it but....not this time.

Oy. The Dem has about $2M on hand, while the Pubbie has only change and hope. (pun intended) I guess news like this is what that much of an underdog needs.

You are way off base, take-escape. Way off base.
Sex is a different level of human drive entirely. The young make accidental mistakes in sex, but the corrupt make a habit of mistakes like sexual licentiousness, theft, bribery, kidnapping, murder.
There is no human family without a weakness in sex, some better than others in staying bound sexually to each other in marriage and to none without. But all have some weakness, constantly vulnerable through most of life -- that's the basic design, sex-wise, human-wise.
Not so with corruption, per the list above. Those habits take development to fully flower in a family. Yes, a son can be at odds with his dad -- his dad good, the son bad or vice-versa. but there also are family traditions, good and bad.

Mark Mulligan? Now that’s a great name for a candidate.

Mr. Hounds:
“Oops... sorry... skipped the second sentence. My mistake.”
Totally understandable - when it’s a donkey miscreant, *nobody* looks at the second sentence for the party affiliation - you skip immediately to the end of the article, or else chase down a primary source.
(Now if it was a Republican, that party affiliation would be in the lead).
