a local overloaded server on Cox cable (as they relocate stuff to make way for massive communications and electrical supply infrastructure for whatever the local military base is doing), etc.

I didn't know this... does this affect every one of us that uses Cox cable?

It can affect everyone who uses Cox cable to the degree they get routed by Cox servers through the Northern Virginia nexus.

Lots of Army stuff is being moved to "down the street". Huge amount. Half of Walter Reed for one thing. Other more interesting things too.

We have more fiber in this area than most countries. I have 4 different fiber providers who've run line through my front yard (for example).

All the power lines around here are going underground. All the communication lines are going underground. Sewers are being constructed to handle the needs of another 12,000 to 20,000 federal employees and their hangers on. The local mall is being torn down and doubled in size to provide an ADDITIONAL 5 million sq. ft. of retail space, etc. This place is going to look like downtown Atlanta in 10 years.

Cox makes use of a number of centers around here. No doubt some of their supporting lines have literally been "moved" recently.
